Mixon and the linebacks did great. You have to credit Ryans and Burke for that. They had their team in position to win. The lowlights: Ryans not challenging the lateral. Eric Murray lost his mind in one series. Tank Dell dropping that TD was a bad omen. Slowick struggled to adjust to Green Bay's scheme and he was notably bad in the last series. That was a loser mentality on display. I also thought that Stefon Diggs losing his cool before the game was weird. How can you trust that guy? He doesn't really seperate anymore. Giving up a second rounder for him does not make sense. Stroud was rattled.
Yep. I don't wanna hear about injuries to the defense costing us the game. We would have lost with a healthy defense. The defense played pretty great. The passing game failed hard and I blame them.
Once our oline gets good enough to where CJ can actually throw the ball, then we will be ok. But until then, I don’t know.
He’s not calling the offensive plays. guarantee he didn’t call a 10 yard out on 3rd and 15 when the only productive decision there is to make them use their last timeout (and of course, not turn it over).
Demeco has improved the defense like... Not enough credit is given to the fact that we missed 5 starters this game and defense STILL could have won the game. It's just these game management situations are so frustrating. IT's wild that he thought it was okay to settle for a FG...then even more wild that he was fine with an out route that did nothing but give GB more time. Yeah Slowik called the play but since he didn't stop Slowik that's on him too. Slowik being chicken**** scared and wanting to sit on the smallest of leads is also his fault because it is his team.
Tank hasn't been himself this season because he probably hasn't fully mentally/physically recovered from the gunshot wound. We can only hope he comes around and is worth a dime later in the season. Right now, he's close to useless.
But CJ is the best player on the team, and if I’m going to expect anyone to make adjustments and figure it out, it’s him. He needs to start playing like the generational QB we all expect him to be. Continuing to b**** about the o line, it’s futile. They are up and down, and that’s it. Slowik is definitely shouldering blame and he should. They don’t execute and make adjustments like they need to. Again, great QBs can figure these things out and overcome mistakes of their teammates. I expect CJ to continue to learn and get better, but ultimately, it’s his job to figure that out. He’s the star QB and he’s way, way, way better than this. It’s okay to place blame on your star QB. It doesn’t mean you hate him or think he sucks.
Ok coach what should we have done being up only 2 points give them more time to try and score a touchdown
We have our running game back, meaning play action should be a thing. I don't know how much control CJ has at the line, but he (1) needs some & (2) needs time
- don’t challenge the obvious backwards pass - try to straddle the fence on the last offensive drive (should’ve run three times instead of run-run-pass) seems like the small things are doing the Texans in. AND THIS O-LINE IS SOME OVERPAID TRASH
What happened in the entire passing game? All year long, CJ has held on to the ball and has had to make plays with his feet, buying time and having success in scrambling drills. But why does he have to do that? Some of it is pass protection but he usually has more time than he did today. Are our receivers not getting open? How is that possible with or without Collins? Is Slowik just call slow developing plays? Is CJ just looking for 15+ yard completions and not taking advantage of short-intermediate routes? I don't know. It seems like CJ rarely gets a pass off in rhythm. Even the few today that kind of were in rhythm, he was still a half beat late. Why do we have to make everything look so damned hard?
You're kidding right? Defense gave the offense plenty of opportunities to score with all the takeaways. Without the takeaways, I doubt the offense even score any TD with terrible starting field positions.
