Workers don't self organize toward a particular vision or goal.

And this is where we get into the conversation of how replaceable that particular skillset is. Is the concept of vision and organizing capital a self full-fulfiling prophecy of dudes born into capital who had made the right guesses, had the right amount of luck claiming that it's some esoteric vision and talent that got them there or could anyone born into that amount for capital and networking opportunities could conjure up the "vision" given enough luck?

What is more fluky? Capitalist owners' vision or engineering design talent?

Maybe we ascribe too much to some concept of genius in vision rather than mere luck of being in the right place at the right time where anyone with above average intelligence would be in the same position as Musk given the same set of opportunities and conditions available with the same luck factor.

Basically what I'm saying is the concept of "vision" amongst successful capital owners maybe is merely pr to mask their luck with some esoteric concept of genius.

Both are needed. People don't just get together and do something without someone organizing.

Both can be "needed" but both don't require genius level intellect.

How we organize projects to let the genius engineers and scientists do their work is needed. But I wouldn't call the bureaucrats, politicians, DOD generals etc as geniuses when they oversaw and organized DARPA.

Who's the genius who organized the conditions to allow John B Goodenough to develop the lithium ion battery? College administrators, politicians etc who greenlight the funding?
