Its bad when your handlers Dont even trust you to speak at an NRA event. He could literally **** on the ground and say **** those kids and he'd get applause.

Trump Abruptly Cancels Two Big Speeches in Sign of How Bad He’s Doing
    Edith Olmsted/
    October 17, 2024/12:19 p.m. ET

Donald Trump has pulled out of two major interviews Thursday, after the Republican presidential nominee made several appearances this week that went disastrously awry.

Trump had been scheduled to do an interview with NBC News’s senior business correspondent Christine Romans that would air Monday, but the plans for a face-to-face were apparently shelved. CNN’s Brian Stelter reported Thursday that one source suggested the interview had only been “postponed.”

The former president also canceled his speech to an NRA convention on Tuesday in Savannah, Georgia. Convention organizers said Trump had a “scheduling conflict.”

These two changes come just days after Trump canceled plans to appear on CNBC’s Squawk Box, which the economic show’s co-anchor Joe Kernan reported Tuesday. While Trump’s campaign claimed he would be unable to attend the Friday interview due to scheduling conflicts that would bring him to Michigan, he is actually scheduled to appear live on Fox & Friends, which is only a few blocks away form the CNBC studio, according to The Daily Beast.

The cancellations come amid a rough week for Trump, who has visibly struggled during several events. The former president flailed while responding to tough questions at a Univision town hall Wednesday night, leaving attendees looking particularly unimpressed as he weirdly called the deadly January 6 riot a “day of love.”

He babbled incoherently during an interview at the Economic Club of Chicago Tuesday and threw a tantrum when fact-checked on his outlandish economic plans. On Sunday, he appeared to come untethered from reality as he stopped a town hall in its tracks so he could awkwardly stand onstage and listen to music for 40 minutes. And earlier this month, Trump broke nearly 60 years of tradition by backing out of an invitation for a sit-down interview with CBS’s 60 Minutes.

It seems that Trump is trying desperately to avoid a mainstream interview with journalists who aren’t in his pocket, opting instead for friendlier, Fox-ier faces.

Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris doesn’t appear quite as apprehensive to speak with those who might not agree with her. Harris appeared in an interview with Fox News’s Bret Baier Wednesday, and seems to have gotten exactly what she wanted out of it.

I don’t know if this is true of other media markets but the only ads I see for Trump are accusing Harris of paying for prisoners to get sex change operations. Nothing about inflation or even immigration.

Inexplicably Trump has gained some ground in the polls in recent weeks, so at this point they've just decided to hide him as much as possible, it's clearly what works best.

The less people are reminded of what a rapidly declining, idiot, blowhard he is the better. This type of obvious crap would be a killer for literally any politician ever, but the cult doesn't care. They can maintain the false image of their god king as long as the real person isn't in public.

Was listening to some interviews with voters in exurban Minnesota on local news. The county is a swing county but matches the mood of the country as not a clear winner (at least among who they interviewed). Of the people who were interviewed only one was a full
On Trump supporter and one a full on Harris supporter.

What stood out to me was that while some did cite higher prices as a feeling of concern many just said they had a general sense of unease in general. My own feeling is that this is a cultural problem greater than this election. The people in this area are generally doing well with low unemployment and growth in the area. Our culture though is so full of dire messages and salacious stories of crime that there is an undefined unease. The Trump campaign and MAGA movement in general has capitalized on this. This is one reason why there are a lot of interviews with people at Trump rallies who will rail against things like DEI and Critical
race theory without being able to define them. Or will go on about criminal “illegals” yet will also acknowledge that there interactions with immigrants have been good.

Definitely most common here in GA, but I've seen others. Inflation was more common weeks ago and they did a commercial about an illegal immigrant that killed a kid/young man with his car. Also saw one about Kamala prosecuting a mom for truancy of her sick daughter. Newest thing is Kamala is going to raise taxes.

When Trump loses the election again will it be another day of love afterwards? That lying psychopath is mentally unfit to serve. I can't wait until he becomes My Irrelevant once and for all.

As Nov. 5 nears, Trump steps up attempts to recast Jan. 6 violence as 'day of love'

He falsely said none of his supporters were carrying firearms.

The Justice Department has noted that in court it has been proven that "weapons used and carried on Capitol grounds include firearms; OC spray; tasers; edged weapons, including a sword, axes, hatchets, and knives; and makeshift weapons, such as destroyed office furniture, fencing, bike racks, stolen riot shields, baseball bats, hockey sticks, flagpoles, PVC piping, and reinforced knuckle gloves."

Trump then claimed thousands of his supporters who traveled to Washington "didn't come because of me," despite his posting on social media in mid-December 2020 that there would be a "big protest" on Jan. 6.

"Be there, will be wild!" Trump famously wrote on Twitter, where he'd amassed some 88 million followers.

He hasn't been hiding though. Was just on the PBD Podcast, was at Bloomberg earlier in the week, was on the Full Send podcast this week also. He's going to be on Fox News soon I believe as well. It is not hiding in the same sense as Kamala earlier on, who literally had zero interviews or press appearances until the sit-down with Dana Basch (with special guest TIm Walz).

And the ground he's gaining was evident in early August, but obvious by the end of the first debate.

He will not do NBC, CNBC, 60 Minutes. He is avoiding tough questions.

He's been hiding and canceling things he'd agreed to previously. It makes sense. Everytime he does an event, a debate, or an interview, he shoots himself in the foot.

And maybe easy questions too, since he has lately had trouble landing the weave.

Some would say that Biden successfully used this strategy in the last presidential election.
