Pretty sure the Blazers can get better than a 2nd round pick for Rob Will. He probably has late first value. Especially if he bounces back from his injury.
And, do the Rockets really need a 4th center??? I feel like lack of size is just something basketball fans complain about. I bet you could’ve found T-wolves fans complaining about needing another big center last year.

It makes no sense going after Timelord, since he is coming back from an injury. He can't replace Adams.

We need to move some players out with out an Immediate replacement because we are bottlenecked across the entire roster. It’s sad because we need to say goodbye to some of our homegrown talent. What some consider a blessing is really a curse because the team is going to implode because of lack of opportunities. Too many egos to keep in check. It’s more than younger people, too. Not everyone is going play nicely when told to wait for or step back their playing time. Most of the team is rotation worthy. Only 8 or so players will be happy-ish. Great problems to have.., are still problems.

We'll clearly have to consolidate, but there just aren't many stars out there worth giving up our pieces for. In the last 2 years, we've been linked to Jaylen Brown ('23 Summer) and Booker, and both are obviously off the table...but that gives you an idea of the types of players we're looking for: proven mid-20s stars.

2 guys that come to mind that fit an uptempo, athletic defensive squad are De'Aaron Fox (26) and Bam Adebayo (27). Both seem pretty off limits now, but both teams could be looking to make some trades after this season (with Butler butting heads with Riley, and Sacramento putting all their chips in with questionable fit DeRozan).

If we flipped Sengun, Brooks, Tate and a pick for Bam, and then Jalen, FVV and change for Fox, we'd have scary athletic/versatile defensive group. Maybe we'd have to throw in Tari, but still...

    Adebayo - Adams
    Jabari - Tari
    Cam - Tari
    Amen
    Fox - Sheppard

    Lmao.
    Massive overpays for both.
Alp is better than Bam now.
Jalen has a much higher upside than Fox.
And you’re throwing in Fred and Brooks?
    Wow lol

I mean even as a Jalen stan I wouldn't say Green has a much higher ceiling than Fox. Green is taller and longer player. Both have similar elite quickness and agility. Fox was a much better PG playmaker at the same age as Green. I think Green will end up being the better shooter because of their respective forms and the fact Fox is a low 70s ft% shooter and Green for his career has been 80%.

But as of now I think Fox is the trajectory of the level of player Green will be hovering around with his current trajectory when he's like 25 which is borderline western conference all-star guard. Can Green be more? Sure but that would be Green reaching his highest outcome which rarely happens.

But I agree I wouldn't give up Green to get Fox. Fox is soon reaching that age where his best trait will start diminishing. Green has his entire career ahead of him.

The above got me thinking.... SAC starts off bad and decides it's not working out with Fox, Sabonis, & DD....

Fox being an Htown guy says "I want out and I would STRONGLY prefer Htown"

You think Fox for FVV + unprotected HOU 2025 FRP would entice SAC?

Would they need more draft compensation like 2027 FRP? Would Eason or Cam have to be included?

FVV vs Fox is almost a wash IMHO. Fox is younger with upside, but FVV is a champ, solid team leader, & could help propel that team.

If we could get Fox without giving up Jalen, Sengun or Amen, I'd do it. FVV and any one of Jabari, Tari or Cam plus a pick or 2? Yeah count me in, we'd be contenders.

2 years ago no-one wanted Fox. He has a good year and now everyone is acting like he is a superstar. This suggestion is a massive overpay that has the up and down career that Fox has had.

Not the biggest fan of Zach Lavine's, but if they are giving him away for cap space next offseason and SRPs.
Brooks (to a 3rd team that will send expiring to Bulls and a SRP to the Bulls)
    Jeff Green
    Tate
    SRP

The Rockets could still have Sengun and Jalen on rookie max extensions (or salaries of players acquired in trade if one sent out), JSJ on an 18% cap extension, and Tari on an 12% cap extension without having 2nd apron issues. Only problem regarding 2nd apron with Lavine is if a star wants to come in 25-26 such that the 25-26 payroll would bust the 2nd apron for 1 season if Lavine was not an outgoing contract to acquire the star. Lavine's contract expires just as Amen and Cam's contract would go way up.

Mostly, this would be for adding another shooter to the rotation. With Amen, Sengun, Adams, I think Lavine's shooting would be more valuable than Brooks's defense.

2 years is a lot of information. Not every player improves nearly as well as Fox. I think it would be incredibly difficult to acquire Fox in a trade, and I'm not sure about the fit, but I think Rockets would take him at a fair price and worry about fit later.

A fair price, sure. What’s being suggested is a massive over pay, IMHO. Fox for Jalen or Fox for FVV and one of our own picks sure. I do think FVV is very underrated on this forum. He is a really good defensive player and if Ime can get him moving the ball more quickly he might be worth taking his option next year until Amen is ready.

No he won't; the Bucks will never willingly trade him anytime soon. He meant if they don't win he'll demand to be traded.

Book or Jaylen Brown would be great, but I'd equally throw all my chips into the Jaren Jackson Jnr. basket if he became available. The perfect fit next to Sengun imo.

    Houston get JJJ

    Grizzlies get Jabari, KD

Phoenix get Brandon Clarke, Luke Kennard, Jock, Tate and all of their picks back from us and the ones Memphis hold.

Need to point out this isn't intended to be an "end point" for the Suns. This would only happen if they under perform in the regular season, or - for whatever reason want to move off Durant and get presented this godfather offer for him.

This at least, give the Suns a bunch of movable contracts (no not you Beal) and a ton of draft capital for whatever direction they want to go in.

This sort of haul means they could go star hunting again. They could look for a really good role player/2nd or 3rd option and still have some tradable assets. Or three.. the dreaded rebuild (less likely).

Rockets get JJJ who would fit like a glove next to Sengun. JJJ is the guy that Houston hope Jabari would be. But defensively he just may not get there. Theres probably still a lot of room for Jabari to grow into a better offensive player than JJJ.

Grizz, obviously get a top 15 player in the league and sacrifice their PF for a SF that they've probably been looking for for years. Getting Bari in to replace JJJ production is no small thing. Both Bari and KD should help big man rookie Eddy by taking the pressure off of him to score.

Dillon, Jalen, Jabari and all phoenix picks for Giannis.
    FVV
    Sheppard
    Amen
    Giannis
    Sengun

    Cam
    Adams
    Tari
    McVeigh

If we had to throw in Tari or Cam so be it. The following year FVV goes off books and Amen and Sheppard become the backcourt and either Cam or Tari start at SF or a draft pick or we sign or trade for another wing. Giannis is our target and I could see it happening as early as the deadline if the Bucks drop past Boston, Knicks, and Phili by then.
