If I were to pick a demographic group that could surprise with their voting pattern in this year's elections -- it would be Asian Americans. DEI policies harm them (wrongly) and put them at a disadvantage, despite Asians having to already compete at a disadvantage as recent immigrants. So Asian Americans see an awful DEI candidate like Kamala and they vote Red. Also, Hung Cao has been doing an amazing job in Virginia and has a bright future.
Harris was criticized for not doing interviews. She does interviews. She was then criticized for doing "softball" interviews. She goes onto Fox News. These aren't moving goalposts. These are migrating goal posts.
I'm 100% onboard with the bold part. The bipartisan bill didn't address the work aspect, but it at least addressed the "being more secure" part with additional resources. More importantly, it fixed the language of the law that allowed anyone to come here, in any method, and claim asylum without going through the "proper" channels. There was a big spike in encounters (I don't like using "encounters" for many reasons, but let's use that term) at the southern border during Trump's years. COVID is what shut it down. I personally think the pent-up demand due to COVID caused the huge spike after the COVID emergency ended during Biden's term (when the emergency ended, Title 42 or the "ban" on crossing had to also end by law). It is already way down now due to Biden's last EO (which, as I said before, likely will be struck down by the Court). Whoever wins will inherit the current low numbers, and eventually face another spike if and when the EO is struck down by the court. We have to solve this issue and take it seriously. This can be a win-win -- we need legal immigration to continue growing our economy, but we need it in a controlled way, not how it has been for the past 40 years. We need someone who will stop trying to use immigration as a political issue and instead treat it as a serious problem to be solved. It can be solved -- it needs Congressional action and leadership from the executive to push it through. Trump doesn't want to solve this -- this is his best political issue and he wants to maintain it, as he vividly demonstrated when he killed the bill.
I hear you. He was biased but not outrageously bad. I actually thought he was pretty fair. I didn't like the constant interruptions, but it is what it is. Harris and her team knew what they were going into and I thought she did pretty well, and I'm very glad she's doing these interviews. Obviously, she should avoid trolls like Musk, but she should be willing to go anywhere and do any interviews. If you can't handle that, you shouldn't be running for president.
This was never going to be an interview where she would get to explain things in long form - and that wasn't the purpose of this interview. She did this interview with the purpose of reminding moderate Republicans of the things Trump has said and done. Both her and Trump are fighting over scraps at this point. Trump is trying to pick off the women he hasn't sexually assaulted or alienated by claiming he is the father of IVF - and Harris is going on Fox News targeting Republicans reminding them that Trump is a bad guy - while not discussing what she will do or how she isn't Trump. It is likely a waste of time - probably. What you are discussing - a candidate is going to emerge that uses tactics and discusses the things you are concerned about - probably from the Left - but it may not be this election cycle, or possibly the next - but they will emerge and probably be very successful.
That's what I think her campaign is smartly calculating. Just don't be some crazy extremist and some FOX audience will be like: "wait, what? annoying, sure. Nasal voice, yes. But meh, just another politician. Not the antichrist." But what do I know!
Actually the interview was already scheduled for 20 minutes. That was announced before the interview occurred
He had to interrupt her BS filibuster to every question that was asked. He has a whole bunch of questions but was only able to ask a handful because Kameltoe never answered a direct question and would immediately go to her well rehearsed Donald Trump is bad schtick. He has only 25 minutes for this interview and she short changed him with 5 minutes by showing up 17 minutes late, that’s an eternity in TV land. You guys can spin it every which way you want but at the end of the day, Kameltoe is one horrible candidate!
