Amazing in depth Analysis from 2023 on Amen Thompson by resident fan dummy and charlatan Bobby the Great Fraud
It is really hard to take a post like this seriously. "CJ Collum"? lmao. "sealing" Comparing JG to Sengun?
Sure, you are right .... this current team is light years behind those teams but you have to understand that team had #1 and #3 and followed that up with a #1 overall the next year drafting two HOFers and a very good complimentary player. This bunch hasn't had the same draft opportunities ....Toronto got the best player in the 21 draft in Barnes (and that's not saying much), in 22 Orlando blew it & OKC got the best player in Chet, we got the leftovers in Jabari, in 23 San Antonio gets Wembysmomma and we get a guy who can do everything but shoot .... Maybe we struck gold this past draft with Shepard but that's still to be determined. Now that there is a draft lottery (Put in place because of the Rockets) and the fact that players come out so damn young, you need a lot of luck not only in lotto balls falling your way but that the players actually develop ..... Sengun's a very good player, I just don't know if he's a guy you build around or not, is he in that tier of guys like Randle, Lavine, Beal & Derozan that are good but not good enough ? .... Or does he develop beyond that? At this point, I can't answer that. Green is even more difficult to figure ..... and the clock is ticking on both of them & Jabari isn't that guy.
I really believe Jalen deserves a max contract after his incredible march leap. Given his popularity and the impact he has, locking him in now seems like a smart move. Sengun could also be a good option, but I’m not sure we’ll have the luxury to bring him on board with Adams in the picture. Adams gives Jalen everything he needs for a strong playoff run, so we’ll have to be smart about how we allocate our resources moving forward. If we can get Sengun on board for a deal under $25 million a year, then we should definitely sign him right away.
People have been pretty quiet because he's played well 3 games in a row. He's not jacking up stupid shots. He's making decent passes and defensive efforts. I'd bet he gets the bag too if this is to continue. I do wonder, in the Jalen-max timeline... if Sengun is ultimately traded? I think they should be an incredible duo but they just haven't formed a real cohesion outside of some pretty basic pick/roll stuff.
I wouldn’t call it just three games in a row; it feels more like a continuation of his leap from March. None of us want to see Alpy traded (we really value him)but we have to make a decision considering Jalen as our certified franchise player. The real question is, who fits better with Jalen? The answer to that will determine our future success.
lol welcome to the party, buddy. where you been? whose alter ego are you? btw, we should NOT offer Sengun $25M. It is waaaay too much. We should offer him less, like 15 is kinda the top limit I would offer him
I think anything below $25 million can be matched pretty easily, so it doesn’t make sense to offer that. From a team-building standpoint, Alpy unfortunately appears to be the most expendable player on the roster, especially with young stars like Amen and Reed coming up behind him. I would never want to trade Alpi, but financial considerations might force us to make some tough decisions down the line.
I think we should trade him immediately so we can get something in return or wait until next summer to let him go. I dont think there is a single NBA team that would sign him for more than $20M. I agree with you on that!
There’s no need to rush into trading Alpy if we don’t have to. First, we should wait until Jalen is committed to the max contract; that’ll give us a clearer view of the future. I just hope Sengun is willing to make some sacrifices to stay a long-term Rocket.
Alpy might have to make some realistic sacrifices based on four key points: 1) Financially 2) Reduced playing time (that’s up to Ime, of course) 3) A more limited offensive role (again, Ime’s decision) 4) Consistently setting screens for our guards, especially Jalen. I really love Alpy; he’s the smiling face of our franchise. But ultimately, nothing is more important than our long-term goal: winning a championship.
I’m not sure why you think I’m trolling, but I’m really glad to be part of this welcoming community. There have been some great discussions happening here.
