I think this would be my top win of the season, if we get it. Just above Buffalo since that was at home. I wouldn't be bothered by a loss but it would be awesome to come out of Lambeau with the W!
This is a great test to see where were at, on the road against a very good QB and Coach. I had this as a loss in my preseason picks but I actually feel better now about the Texans after the past 2 weeks. I won't be pissed at a loss if its close, but if we can finally put together a solid 60 minutes of clean football we can do this................the early metrics show Love is not as good under pressure so let's get after him Texans 27 Packers 24 FG as time expires
Interesting stat that needs to end. Texans have loss 8 straight on road vs NFC teams and 18 straight vs NFC teams on road when a dog. Last win on road vs NFC team as a dog was 2012 SNF vs Bears.
Sometime we back into expectation of losses. We look at our schedule and "find" the losses which match our season total expectations. Green Bay is one of our better opponents going into the season and Minnesota was not. This season, Minnesota is better than expected and Green Bay has slipped a little. I don't know how this will go, but I'm hopeful we find a way to win once again. Our chances go up if we have the ball last or at least with the opponent having less than 10 seconds to work with.
Just some fun facts: The Packers and Texans have met 5 times. The Packers are 4-1 in the series. With 3 wins coming in Houston. Last meeting 10/25/20 Packers 35 Texans 20. Another memorable meeting: 10/14/12 Packers 42 Texans 24. Memorable because the Texans were highly favored and it was their first loss of that 12-4 season. Let's hope for another memorable October game in the "rivalry"(kind of lol) I think this one will be closer than the other October games. Let's Go! Is it Sunday yet?
I know Coach will say there are no ugly wins in the NFL, but that's coach speak. The truth about wins counting in the standings the same, whether pretty or ugly is true, but fans can see the difference between pretty and ugly play. Assigning blame sometimes takes a coach who has information about the play call. The general trend of underscoring our play level is concerning, though it hasn't cost us a win. This is definitely an improved team over last year. 5-1 with room to improve is definitely a nice place to be. Now let's make Love look like we did Allen.
Don't sleep on the Packers signing Brandon McManus this week. The Packers had the worst kicker in the NFL this season. McManus is a huge upgrade. Texans game comes down to a FG late, and the Packers are in better shape than a few days ago.
Stay away from McKinney he’s probably the best safety in football. CJ should be able to pepper the field in every zone that McKinney is not patrolling. Might be a good game to look for Dalton more than usual their LBs aren’t that great outside of rookie Cooper. Jacobs is a stud need to keep an eye on him, but generating some pressure vs a sketchy OL needs to be a point of emphasis. Rattle Love whenever possible and try to force some turnovers. Slowik MUST outwit LeFleur. Play action should be successful. Not sure how they can cover all our targets with mid defense, but they do thrive on forcing turnovers so need to play smart. Not some daunting task to go into Lambeau and win when the weather is not a factor so we should take advantage. HOU 27 GB 24
I just assumed every kicker was nails from 59 and below. Doesn't change much in my eyes. Pressure Love and you can win. Run the ball effectively and you can win. Packers are favorited for a reason. Good team.
They're favored because they are playing at home. Nothing more. Texans and Packers are pretty much same in quality of team. Hope Slowik comes up with some good plans to move the ball. Secondary is what I'm concern with.
Yeah, Love and Stroud are extremely similar in play styles. I think they def can win you a superbowl. To me, and I could be wrong it does feel like CJ sees the field a bit better.
Kicker matters when the Pack sent the kicker who missed 5 FGs this season packing. McManus is huge upgrade. This game possibly comes down to FG. Please pressure Love, he will eat your secondary alive. What did Stroud throw for against a crap Pats D? 190 yards? That's fine. Pack will spy Stroud and send exotics at him. Mostly just rush 4 though. Will see a lot of Josh Jacobs. And then Love uses all his receivers. 9 different receivers caught passes last week. That is common. Texans will score some points, but I don't see them holding the Pack under 27. First to 27 wins.
I was just asking. I am not saying he needs to throw 300 a game. This game is a whole different beast. For the Pack too. Kyler Murray was totally rattled last week. Job is to rattle Stroud as well. Won't be as easy.
"Not some daunting task to go into Lambeau and get a win when the weather is not a factor." You think the Packers only win at Lambeau in bad weather? This should be fun.
Its going to be 74 degrees at Lambeau on Sunday perfect weather to make some brisket queso out of those cheeseheads!
Is that all you got? Anyhow.... I see this game coming to the 2 defenses. I said that in a different thread as well. I have not seen enough of the Texans D to form a full opinion. I did see the Vikings and Bears games. Some good film to watch. I am sure the Pack is all over it.
In theory the Texans should win, but they haven't really played well this season despite the record so I wouldn't be willing to bet on it. I won't be upset with a competitive loss, I wouldn't be surprised by a blowout win.
Love is a great QB. I think worthy of that top 5-7 area much like Stroud. He has thrown 6 picks in 4 games which is something to note of. Texans have an above average defense and have shown in the two full games with Mixon to be great offensively. Early in the season so still hard to get a read on how good these teams are.
