There was a glitch in the matrix. We're actually living in the alternate timeline where we got Reed Sheppard.
He’s become a pure point guard. I do wish he would be more aggressive especially when bigs get switched on him but I’m sure that will come in time.
As long as he's hitting them at a Kevin Durant or CP3 level of efficiency (which he is right now) it's fine. However if that % is going to normalize, yeah he definitely has to be a little braver attacking the rim. Should be 10-20% better at the rim.
I like how he always keeps his dribble alive when probing the D, his mannerisms kinda remind me of like a way better Pablo Prigioni lol.
I know it's most likely an overreaction, but after watching Sheppard brick open 3s during the 3pt contest in open practice I got a little concerned. It's not even about the misses, it's how badly the misses look. It doesn't help that he still hasn't shot well from 3 since he put on a Rocket's jersey.
its not like he forgot to shoot. maybe it's just the distance of the nba 3pt line. or the crowd/pressure. or all three factors.
I mean those are factors all NBA players will have to deal with. Like I said it's an overreaction, but when we drafted a generational shooter I didn't expect him to be missing this much and badly. Even Tidjane Salaun is shooting incredibly well right now.
Flashes of Mark Price, especially as he continues to become used to the NBA/system, sets up teammates and plays aggressively.
“I really feel a lot of guys are not comfortable playing in this arena," McGrady said. "I hear guys saying things about how they're not comfortable playing in the arena, how it's not a good shooting arena for whatever reason.”
