Of the people that are voting in the election, 90% (higher?) have already made up their minds, I know there's an illusion that somebody is pulling away or moving in horse race fashion is part of the story the press likes to tell about the election and every election - but it doesn't really seem to be the case. The things that campaigns focus on in the endgame is turnout (TV ads apparently don't make as much difference on that, or at least so I've read) - motivating those last few thousand voters here and there in swing states is a very localized affair (also, yet another good reason why the electoral college system is so ****ing dumb - Harris will win by probably 5-10 million votes - just like Biden and Clinton beat Trump by millions of votes) Also rallies are apparently pretty good at doing this

The one thing is, I would never go to a rally of the person I am not voting for. It's like talk radio. Do we think any Dems. are listening to Tucker Carlson or any repubs tuning in to watch Rachel Maddow. For any reason other than to yell at the radio or TV All these commercials, town halls, stump stops, Tic Tok videos and such are really just preaching to the choir. I think the most important part is..... Getting your folks mobilized to go and vote. This is why I think Harris wins by a small margin. Dems have been historically good at getting their constituents to the booths.

Ironically, you're right DD. It isn't as close as they say and the media's narrative might just be a reflection of their own agenda. Most Americans see through the BS media narrative of Jan 6, especially when you consider the months on end rioting that happened before that. Funny how Dems say nothing about the destruction and injured police officers when Trump was inaugurated in 2017 at the hands of far leftists.
People that followed the actual evidence are upset by the riots of Jan. 6th. But they are more upset by the attempt to steal the election. That started long before Jan. 6th. The riots that happened before Jan. 6th were opposed by both Democrats and Republicans. No candidate running for the presidency is promising to pardon those convicted of riots that happened before Jan. 6th. No candidate is calling those rioters patriots and saying they are great people being unfairly treated. The riots on Jan. 6th were expressly political and from one party. The leader of one of the parties running for the presidency is campaigning on pardoning those folks and he calls them hostages. In 2022 the right wing was saying that people didn't really care about Jan. 6th, but that issue along with the abortion issue helped stopped the predicted red wave we were told was coming. People do actually care about preserving our democracy. You may not, but many Americans do. I urge everyone to not follow the media on the issue, but instead look at the evidence, testimony, and statements by those involved and who were present at the time. People were arrested based on what happened in 2017. No Democratic candidate has suggested pardoning those people.

This! It's a calculated message by Trump to encourage his extremists to repeat the storm on the Capitol again if he requests his "Patriots" to help him. Everything he says and does is self-serving. That's why he promised them pardons. That's why he pardoned his buddies like Roger Stone and the rest. He used them to help him spread the lies and propaganda leading up to Jan 6th. There is absolutely no comparison. As you said, Joe Biden has condemned all violence, along with other Democrats. They have never encouraged and incited their supporters to commit illegal acts.
