[Official] Week 6 Texans @ Patriots

He's not wrong though. Packers were up 24-0 pretty easy in Lambeu well before halftime. Yes its just vs the Cards. But Packers cause a lot of turnovers, can do the short-field game like Texans just did the Pats. The Week 1 thru 5 Texans can't reappear sloppy again.

But it looks like Texans took the Pats game serious to tune up

 

Yes Mixon is a dawg. I still say its been 60% blocking & play calls too. Cuz when even DamnWhere'sHeBeen Dameon Pierce is busting runs, thats something going on up front lol

 

Posters were wondering why slam the ball up the middle repeatedly while it was obviously not working.

Running outside the guards worked quite well it seemed.

 

The running game wasn't quite as good as the stats indicate.

Out of the 178 yards Mixon and Pierce combined for, 133 of those came on just 3 plays, the 2 50+ yard runs and Mixon's 20 yd TD. The other 18 carries accounted for 45 yards, 2.6 ypc.

I know you have to take the bad runs with the good, but I'd like those 0-2 gain runs be balanced out by 7-10 yard carries more often like we did in Game 1 and not necessarily need a home run to make the stats look good. While I'm happy to have the explosive plays, there was a lack of consistency in getting gains of more that 3-4 yards. We still can't run up the middle and there was no way we were going to score by running the ball on the goal line on our first drive. We're not good running in short yardage situations.

Happy for the overall yards, but don't let it fool you into thinking the run game is OK now that Mixon is back. Still work to do.

 

Mixon can start up the middle make a sharp cut, make the 1st guy miss and go outside the tackle box. Dude's really a special RB.

 

Mixon makes an OL look better.

 

The pats may not win another game. They are horrible.

Still, a win is a win and this was a road win.

5-1 is looking fantastic

 

You should’ve stopped here. We are not the cards and we have CJ not Kyler. We also have a Top 6 offense and Top 3 defense. Cards are no where near that. They have a bottom 5 defense and a middle of the pack offense. We are not talking about the same team even if we haven’t played great the first 5 weeks.

 

Packers have one of the worst secondaries in the NFL this year per stats.

CJ Stroud is "levels" above Kyler from the pocket.

They def have a shot.

 

He was maybe our 3rd best FA signing this offseason. I was concerned about his suspension because I was really worried that DT would be a huge weakness for this team, and Autry will play DT at least on some snaps. But honestly between Fatukasi and Mario Edwards Jr, our interior defensive linemen have been pretty good, certainly better than I expected. But Autry will elevate this team, even if it just means seeing less Tim Settle on the field.

 

I guess we will just have to Settle for that.

 

Hell of a game, yea the Pats suck but you have to play who's in front of you. The running game finally broke loose, and even Pierce looked pretty darn good!!! Petri and Murray scare me but oh well, Autrey is coming back this week.................I have a feeling Harris won't be back anytime soon. The one downer to me was the TE play, 2 critical drops by Stover and Schultz, not sure what's up with Schultz but something is off

Hell of a win and were 5-1, I had the GB as a loss before the season started but now, I think the Texans can d it if we put it all together like we did today. IMO we still haven't played our best, were ramping up for the Xmas gambit and will peak at the right time

 

Anytime you have a franchise qb you have a shot. I’m expecting another W

That break away run from Pierce had to feel cleansing for him. The guy has always maintained a great attitude, I hope he stays on the up and up.

 

31 pass attempts to 28 rush attempts. That's pretty close to foosball symmetry.
68%pass/ 35% run after Mixon got cheap shotted

If Pierce can be one with the scheme, my urgency to find another Mixon in the first three rounds can be place on hold till Spring of 26'

* well we only scored so much because the defense got us the ball inside the 30 a bunch *

* well the defense sucked cuz they had 4 turnovers and still gave up 21 points *

“I hope mixon can actually make the run game better..” 100+ yards and 177 total rushing
* well those 177 yards are reall on 3 attempts mainly*


Don’t get me wrong, I’m first in line to question and be skeptical on this team… but goodness some of y’all will never be happy…
