Gritty performance by the Texans; a lot to like. No offensive line penalties was a plus. C.J. didn't have a "great" day, but most QB's in the league would take it. The defense was very disruptive. A few lapses, but overall, great win. I am still waiting for that "clean" win where they are clicking on all cylinders. But that is just "style points."
- Texans run-diff in positive territory (first time since 1st Q vs MINN). - Will the Thrill with 3 sacks - first fumble recoveries of the season (2), FOUR takeaways total - Mixon returns and performs well. Texans run game still not great, but Joe got a TD reception too and both Pierce and Nixon had long runs. - Stroud played well. The INT in the endzone hurt has stats, but it was deflected and should've been caught by Schultz. Still, a 100+ rating for CJ. - Bullock 2 takeaways - 5-1 record first time since 2012 - First victory @ New England in 8 games Nice win overall .
Great win...atleast it was finally a big score. I swear, when an interception happens because of a tipped pass, especially when it should've been caught, that should count as a turnover by the reciever.
They broke away in the second half and finally stomped out an opponent. Cleaned up the penalties. Successful running the ball. All the things that needed improvement, improved. Kaimi recovered well after an early miss. The bad...Schultz was terrible, I don't know what's wrong with him but he was cheeks today. Townsend just isn't good, his one decent punt was originally ran back for a big return before being bailed out by a penalty. He fails to flip the field and that's a big detriment. I'd like to see them start working out some punters.
Yes, completely. Offense got the ball 4 times inside the 30 against one of the worst teams in football. It certainly wasn't a bad game, I just want to see one game where the Texans completely dominate and look like a real super bowl contender. I was thrilled to see a game without a million flags.
Dalton Schultz alone probably cost us 10 points by the TD catch, and a few bad 3rd downs. He really needs to get better individually over the next several weeks with Nico out. But overall a very nice and dominating performance. Onto the Land of Cheese!
I think they’re absolutely a contender. Their record demonstrates that. Winning 50-10 isn’t realistic in the NFL. Those are total anomaly games. I don’t think you should be expecting 40 point wins…you’re gonna be really disappointed regardless who your team is.
What gets lost is that NE really has a solid defense. Good showing for Maye. We really need an emergency Pitre can then flow over to safety on obvious passing downs. Matchup is going to get exploited as they begin the second half of the schedule if it isn't fixed. call up King. Feels great to run the ball again! game changer. Dalton should have finished with 70 yards, 1TD but he had other things in mind.
Normally I wouldn't, but this was one of those anomaly games IMO. When you get the ball inside the 35 four times you absolutely should rack up a ton of points if you have an elite offense. On the flip side New England had 4 ugly giveaways with noob QB and still scored a season high points.
