It did appear he crossed the invisible banter line into the don't ever go there zone. These two guys have to do this every night tho for several hours and are quite good at it, so friendly banter is necessary just to keep it fresh and fill dead air. I learned my lesson at 16, wearing my seafood apron, to never ask the 45 year old chicken guy next to me, "So what you makin here?"
Bosses probably told them to squash it so they’re playing it off like it was a joke. Didn’t look like a joke to me and if it was it wasn’t funny and there was real anger.
