I’m not even sure you could call that a jump shot, but at least they’re going in. Glad to see he’s busting his ass on this facet of his game, and in the preseason games I’ve noticed he seems more decisive when he has the ball on the perimeter.

Amen, on the other hand, has a lot of work today on his outside shooting. Much like Alpi, Amen will be a star if he can develop that one shot.

For 2024-25 according to ESPN the Rockets have a 3.3% of making the Finals, and 1.2% of winning it all.

In comparison Harden's Clippers have a 3.7% of making the Finals, 1.3% of winning it.

I don't know if three pointers are ever going to be the staple of Sengun's game--it's more about, if they leave him open, can he knock them down. The vision is kinda similar to what Jokic does--you take a few per game when your defender leaves you wide open, but it's more of a fallback than the main focus. Helps open things up for your bread and butter closer to the basket.

Sengun might be a better player than Joel Embiid this year. Could be 2nd best center in the league.

That's exactly what I meant in my post. He needs to hit from 3 just often enough to keep the defenses honest.

Embiid is the only player in the league the last few seasons who could touch jokic. You think there’s a chance sengun is the best or 2nd best player in the league the season?

Would be pretty cool. Being better then what embiid has been would make him easily the mvp this year though, that’s a bit much

Embiid has never been the best player in the league or anywhere close frankly. He's a foul merchant that got a pity MVP because the voters got tired of voting for Jokic.

Embiid will not be anywhere near the best player in the league this upcoming season. I also think Embiid is overrated AF and the absolute definition of a regular season player.

I do agree his mvp was BS because jokic is probably a top 5 all time guy in his prime, but embiid was easily and unquestionably the 2nd best player in the league the last few years

Second best center, yes. Second best player? What about Doncic, Shai, Tatum, Giannis, etc.

Embiid has been the only guy the last 3-4 years that has come close to jokic. Tatum i assume is a joke? Same with shai. Giannis is kinda a worse embiid. Luka was maybe close last year but not quite, but that was the first time for him.

I presume you are strictly talking regular season only.

Of course, otherwise sengun wouldn’t be a top 150 player if you looked only at the playoffs. Plus philly is a monster in embiids playoff minutes, always have been.

Sengun already better than AD. Sengun is the best.

Way too early knee jerk Sengun per 36 minute stats based on 2 games of meaningless preseason ball!

    27.7 points
    60% from the field
93.7% from the free throw line
    10.6 rebounds
    4.9 assists
    4.9 stocks

Here are last season's numbers (again per 36 minutes)

It is an interesting thought. I think it would depend on how Ime utilizes him this year. Jokic is the main hub of the Denver offense, and I would think Embiid is too. However, the Rockets' main offensive player is Jalen with Sengun primarily as one of his assist men. Sometimes it seems that FVV and Sengun provide the initial offensive thrust but the stats, I think, show that Jalen still gets the most shots. I would like to see at least one game where Sengun will be utilized like Jokic primarily and see what happens.
