That could lead to other problems and unintended consequences. For instance, teams might exaggerate or even fake the severity of an injury to keep an opposing team's key player sidelined longer. This could create a system open to abuse, where competitive advantage is gained by manipulating injury reports to keep key opponents off the field. It might put pressure on the medical staff to declare players unfit to return even though they can.

Please don't be a repeat of the Panthers/Jets games last season. Slowik please improve playcalling on early downs.

Don’t like this. 2 worst games of CJ’s career: Jets and Northwestern.. both were very rainy.

If they are missing their RB1 and we have mixon/pierce back, might be good

I never count the other team out. We've lost to much less talented teams in the past. Our coaches need to call smart plays, and make good use of the time clock. We have more than enough talent to win this game, and I want to see the stupid ass penalties stop happening. You can't win by talent alone if you don't use that brain in your head. Here's to the coaches and team using their brains and kicking some ass! Let's do this! Don't overthink it. Just get out there with confidence and play smartly! If we do that, then we will win.

PS..,.......Stop using tiny Tank Dell like a running back. Just let him fly down field.

We had one against the Vikings. I’ll take a win, regardless of how.

I don't want to throw cold water on this, but setbacks have become expected when dealing with injuries in Houston.

Rain counteracts the pass first offense which exposes it's weakness which is speed and quick twitch maneuvers. Even Zone blocking schemes rely on this and display the lack of raw power ability in these systems. If there is any obvious weakness with the Texans, it is a lack of raw power on both sides of the ball.

If it is merely a slick ball, the technology now exists to largely counteract it. But traction is not something we place much emphasis on with our coverable home stadium and many covered away games.

I just checked and the chances at game time are 10% with heavier rains after the game. So my concerns are reduced. I'm more concerned with what weather does to our kicking game.

Has anyone actually announced that Mixon is out or is there still a chance he will be back? The IR has him as questionable, not OUT.

Who is Christian Gonzalez covering? He’s a very good CB. Doubt he lines up in the slot? Anyway, whoever he’s not on should feast cuz the drop off in NE secondary after Gonzalez is massive.
