Never order the standard burger, for this exact reason

I'm not sure I know what this is supposed to mean, in the realm of food, fast or not.

There's a place called River City Grill right next to the Chillis right next to the lake, and I do not understand why anyone goes to the latter

    @Buck Turgidson

It means that when you think of fast food, you don't have to default to the classic drive-through lane garbage.

Kids love Chilis, wife likes it, I don't hate it and the cost isn't something that sticks in my craw as not a good value. Not worth the debate so I go with it.

Agreed on Wendys trash fries nowadays. Im with Buck it was always a choice between either the texas double or the jr bacon cheeseburger- give me bacon every time, plus i like vegetables, but I wouldnt eat mine like a savage, I chose to eat mine individually like a civilized person.

Back in the day, Wndys used to have these garlic breadsticks they would serve with their salads but my dad would order half a dozen of them by themselves. They were delicious and Id snag one from him while he wasnt looking.

I had to pick up my kids from a school thing the other day and they were melting down so I hit a Jack in the Box to mollify them. All I can say is that Sourdough Jacks are in a real sorry state, bros.

Wendy's nuggets for a dollar were an instant buy for a long long time but it went downhill 5-6 years ago.

JotB used to be great. The "ultimate cheeseburger" was ridiculous.

No, they are not good anymore.

They completely jacked up their fries with that switch. They were "meh" after that change.

On a side note, I used to get a 99 cent baked potato with a 99 cent (ok, sometimes I got the larger size which was more expensive) chili of their 99 cent menu, and that was like a steal of a meal bargain at Wendy's. Dump the chili on the potato... heaven. lol. I'm guessing that's gone up in price, but I haven't been to Wendy's in around 8 or 9 years, I think. That was back around 2010-2015 or so.

Your lack of jalapenos and bacon plus the addition of pickles disturbs me.

Whataburger needs to up their shake/malt game. And their fried chicken sammiches. Oh, and they need to bring back the Monterrey Melt

    DQ chocolate malt is heavenly.

Those used to be so good back in the mid/late 00's. After a night of partying I'd get two Jumbo Jacks and two Sourdough burgers then wake up and eat the other two to sober up if someone hadn't already grabbed them.

Yeah, they're either just gross, greasy, smashed and tiny now or the drunk/poor us thought they were much better back in the day.

That's our go to whenever we're driving back from Austin and the Bluebonnet is closed.

RCG - I'm a sucker for a chopped steak and they got a good one.

    Bluebonnet - Breakfast and pie!

Breakfast and pie (I like the western omelette + hash browns, slice of pie to go for later) is the only thing to get at the BBC, man it used to be so much better.

Ever been to Rae's (the R-Bar) next to the theater on main?

    Probably Whataburger

But I do love the McDouble at McDonald’s. Reminds me of a happy meal when I was a kid.
