So there was a drive, bills were gashing us with the run, and suddenly Allen throws a deep ball I think to Coleman, he had beat his man, but the ball was overthrown.. I remember thinking at that moment, “Josh is a great qb, but I just feel like CJ doesn’t miss that throw.. and that’s so cool to think that about our qb for once” anyways, on the very next drive, CJ dropped a 67 yard drop in a bucket.. it was so validating and exciting. We have something special here. Now can we stop roasting him for a couple mistakes?
There was another play in the game where Josh avoided the rush, scrambled out of the pocket like we've seen CJ do a bunch of times already this season, and throw a ball to a wide open WR in the middle of the field. Except unlike CJ, Allen's ball was behind the receiver and it fell harmlessly to the ground. That was another instance where I thought, "CJ doesn't miss that throw, and Nico makes that catch."
CJ had a great game yesterday. On that pick, I will take that aggressiveness every time. The LB made a great play, sometimes it happens. You can play the best offense but sometimes the defense can play better. For that fumble, DeMeco said that it was supposed to be a quick pass that the WR ran incorrectly so CJ had to hold the ball. Even then, the backup Tackle allowed immediate pressure. CJ played an excellent game.
CJ is on the Pat McAfee show right now. It's live so gonna have to go back in the feed a little bit to catch the whole thing:
