It really needs to weaken by tomorrow night. Next 24 hours very important. It's like upper level wind shear versus very warm water battling it out, as far as I understand it.
It was expected to strengthen back up, but now hopefully it will start weakening on the approach. A while back, they were saying it may hit as a Cat 2, I thought, but lately they've been saying Cat 3. In any case, the wind field is supposed to expand affecting more areas with that storm surge. But, they've been saying that for a while, too. Hopefully it gets walloped a bit on the approach.
So umm we have a loose gutter, and my DIY skills are pretty much non-existent. Should I try to re-attach it myself before the big storm hits?
It may be just a few nails/screws that have loosened. It couldn’t hurt to take a look if you’re comfortable on a ladder.
Xerobull was correct about it taking quite a while to remove the trash - rubbish caused by Helene. Higher Insurance rates might make some people think twice about moving to Florida.
