..yeah but the problem there is they have a very thin roster as a result so if anyone misses any amount of time, they slip in the standings and you are playing the "save them for the playoffs" game. Same conversation about Phoenix too and the Lakers in the recent past.

I like the kid, but he might be the odd man out. We can’t keep all these guys. But I would hate to give up on any of the other 6

he's actually the 3rd youngest of the core 7 and has actually shown significant improvement ng shooting efficiency

Even Lauri on the Bulls showed some athleticism and had some nasty dunks. Jabari is so limited athletically and soft on offense. He’ll never be what Lauri is. Speaking of Lauri, why didn’t we just package the Nets picks and Jabari for Lauri…

Part of that is due to the fact that Joker is on a supermax. We probably won't have to worry about that for a while, which gives us a bit more flexibility.

    Problem
Rockets need to trade both Jabrari and Brooks if they want a legitimate shot at the Finals in the near future. Neither one is “starter level” talent.

Nonsense. At 20, Bari averaged 14/8 on decent efficiency with plus defense. He’d start tomorrow for a lot of really good teams. Brooks will likely come off the bench eventually.

Jabari still needs to show more consistency like Sengun though.

Bari has to improve in a lot of areas. But to say he’s not a “starter level” player is crazy. He’s 21 and would start for most of the teams in the league.

Allow me to clarify….not “starter level” players on a serious contender, but yes they can start on several teams. Someone will certainly respond back saying that Brooks led Canada to a title, but just my opinion on both guys. Doubt we’ll ever see either one of them average more than 15 a game.

Most basketball player peak at 19-20 years old. All down hill here from now on for end of his prime Jabari.

He played 79 games the year before and averaged 12.8. Then 77 last year and averaged 13.7. Same amount of rebounds basically each year. He is who he is. Guess if all goes well, in a few years he could average 15 a game.

Same argument every year. We don’t need Jabari to be a star. We have enough guys who need the ball to be effective. His value is a high % scorer who doesn’t need the ball. Add in the defense and rebounding and he’s the perfect high end role player.

He was projected to be Rashard Lewis with all NBA level D and he’s on that trajectory.

40% from 3 this year with some all NBA defensive team votes.

People are still really mad about not getting Chet or Paolo. Jabari isn't in line to ask for a max deal at this point and if by next season he is then fantastic. If he's a 40% shooter who's also getting all-D votes I'm pretty sure that would be his negotiation for that max deal lol

The shots didn't drop last night but his comfort in getting off his own shot was so vastly improved from day 1 and that's the story to me. Some games you don't hit shots, nbd. He was aggressive and got up his own shots, looked to me like there was sort of a decree to get everyone some PT and a shot or two and I'm not sure I would agree that rookie Jabari would've been able to hang.

I do wonder if he takes that step forward to sharpshooter 40%+ territory or if he settles in as a league average+ shooter. I think shooting is contagious too so having Cam, Reed, Fred all these guys start spacing for each other and it avalanches.

Not sure how many remember but Sengun looked pretty bad last pre-season. People were grumbling about him at this time last year and then the regular season started.

He was the fifth best player PF rebounder and shot 38% from three and played good defense. At 20 years old

The difference between Green and Smith is their respective floors. If Jabari doesn't turn out to be a star, the worst case scenario for him is an okay role player. He will still have value as a contributor for the team. If Jalen doesn't turn into a star, the worst case scenario for him is an inefficient high volume chucker that is a negative on the floor.
