I don’t think many people do - some of what she has said is completely non responsive to the question asked. She isn’t unique in that way but I would prefer transparency- but politicians that have been transparent have usually lost.
Politicians don’t answer questions as well. It is just how it goes unfortunately and it pays off for them often times.
Like many, I have been media trained. I know how this works. But she takes it to a whole other level - instead of answering with some messaging she would like to land (regardless of the question), she strings together words in a highly non-sensical way, clinging to dumbass catchphrases like "opportunity economy", "rich must pay their fair share", "unburdened by what has been". Say about Trump what you want, and yes, he lies, like most politicians, but there is some kind of conviction there. You can just see it in her eyes and facial expressions how she knows she is lying. If you hooked up both of them to a lie detector test, she would fail every single time.
LOL watching this interview and seeing the number of times the interviewer looks at her with this facial expression of..."child please"...priceless. Regardless of which side you are on politically, she is by far the weakest candidate I have seen in a US election, and I have been following this since the mid 80s. There is a reason why she would have never won a proper primary. She is an intellectual lightweight, dishonest and insincere.
You are seeing what you want to see. She is looking at him like he is an idiot - because he is an idiot, her background is in law enforcement and she has said that she owns a gun before. I know that it has been brought up numerous times in the past. She laughed at him when he kept asking questions. Also - Glocks are (or were as of a few years ago) the most common side arm of law enforcement in the USA.
Since I've got a slow work day I just watched the 60's minutes interview and recommend everyone else does instead of just reading tweets. It's not a great interview and Whittaker does put her on the spot. She has a few answers that aren't great but overall nothing unusual for your run of the mill politician. As for Whittaker's expressions again I don't think you've watched 60's minutes much as he frequently looks like that. Regarding Trump speaking with conviction, he speaks with energy but energy isn't conviction. He responds frequently with senseless tangents and / or self aggrandizing statements that have nothing to do with the original question.
I don’t really get the criticism that Kamala has been this illusive figure. If you lack the ability to interpret the answers that she wants to be tactful on (see the Q about whether or not she will change policy with Netanyahu) than I have to question the objectiveness or the ignorance of the person questioning her responses. In her case she is a sitting VP. Way different than an outsider businessman running for the first time. She understands that the way she answers can move markets or create propaganda that impacts wars. She also cannot undercut the current administration which is in the process of intense negotiations where lives are on the line (see hostages in Gaza). Not accusing you here in particular but if others cannot understand why some of these answers deter in a way to be tactful than that’s on that person. Meanwhile the entire Republican Party is incapable of saying who won the 2020 presidential election and is literally telling their cult that Democrats are manufacturing hurricanes. I understand wanting to engage in thoughtful dialog with those on the other side of the spectrum but we also have to be willing to call out a lack of good faith and non objective perspective when it’s warranted as well.
I was hanging out with a few folks that "hate the liberals" ...their words...and here are some highlights. I kept my mouth shut and listened. - I don't understand how Ka. ma. la is leading. - if trump doesn't win, you know this thing is rigged - why isn't she in NC visiting the hurricane areas and trying to get some votes...why is she on a sex podcast? - JD vance....ya dude said he didn't like trump before..but that was before he saw how good of a president he was! we had the best economic growth under trump - "bro, i hate the liberals...their whiny, entitled attitudes.." demographic: 3 guys, 2 hispanic, 1 white. christian.
Unfortunately we as American's are going see what all media wants us to see. Be it CBS, FOX, CNN and so on.
Editing is part of the media - as is fact checking - there was a law in place where news used to have to be factual and unbiased. Let's bring that back, and spread it to Social media too. With Deep fakes and people having less time they are more ignorant of truth than ever.....we are experiencing an information dark ages....because people don't know what is real or fake. DD
