Reminds me of Sam Cassell on Draymond's podcast. Said they were getting blown out in Preseason and he was getting super stressed and not understanding why Dream didn't give a damn. And then the actual season started and he was blown away at how good Dream actually was in the games "Sam, the scores didn't count before."

For a basketball junkie and a very intimidating coach, practice matters a lot to Ime Udoka.

I was a person who thought a new training facility was not as important as everyone was making it out to be, but I was wrong. I think the new state of the art digs are really going to help the team.

efficiency and volume should be looked as a whole

you can shoot like 30% from behind the arc but if you attempt 1 3pt a game then thats okay
but if you shoot 30% from behind the arc and you attempt 10 or more threes a game then that's not okay

here's a list of guys who take at least 7 threes a game
check out the worst two in efficiency

are you saying Wizards Poole ain't no chucker from behind the arc?

Jalen entered them league as a far better ball handler.

Both had the same exact rookie adjusted true shooting percentage but Green had a 50% rate on unassisted fgs made and Cam was at 30% so same scoring efficiency but Green did the scoring a lot more against set points of attack defenses off the dribble than Cam. Also Jalen never averaged more turnovers than assists

They are different mold of players. If Cam becomes better than Jalen it would be as a iso wing type scorer similar to how Carmelo Anthony or Joe Johnson scored where he's beating single defenders off the dribble or physically pushing them out of the way in iso clear outs. Cam isn't navigating pnr possessions as a primary ball handler slithering through multiple defenders with a live dribble like Green.

Yes you can fit, but 2 people can sink because of weight.

I think the difference here is semantics - our definition of a chucker being different.

To me, a chucker is a dude who never saw a bad shot.

For the most part, Jalen isn't taking bad / contested shots - he's taking and missing a lot of open shots. 27% on open / wide open 3's, <30% on catch and shoot 3's.

They are shots he should take for the most part - he just has to make them at a higher rate.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Jalen is a good shooter or efficient player currently, just that the vast majority of the shots he takes are shots he should take.

Also chucker has sort of become popularized and standardized for just someone who likes to shoot.

If he is Steph Curry or Kyrie Irving probably not, some of their anti fans still call them chucker.

However I agree that if you really want to get down to their status, most of them are not chuckers.

But I would still call Kobe a Chucker, mostly because he chucked so much when Smush Parker was around.

it's actually smart defense to leave open someone who is not a good three pointer below average at best

so if you know you're averaging 27% in wide open threes do you keep shooting?

or you use your elite speed and hops to slash and attack the rim

or pass it to more capable three point shooters like FVV and JS

I think it has sth to do with age. If he was a 30 year old veteran of course he would be more than willing to pass it up.

But as a 23 year old in full control of his physical abilities, he is going to slash or shoot.

not really regardless of age most players are self-aware and don't just chuck it from the three especially if they have bad averages

Shoot "like" 30 percent or shoot 30 percent?

It took Poole all season to get used to his new team. He shot 35.9 percent from three after the All Star break
