Jabari isn’t Tatum and he is going to be 3-5 in the offensive pecking order unless he comes in massively improved.

Jabari can still work on his game while mostly taking 3’s and cuts to the basket. Green, Amen and/or Reed playing well will open things up for Jabari.

Rockets should extend Eason - get him as a back up if someone throws the bag at Jabari.

Perfect NBA teacher for Sheppard. Ought to sharpen his game a ton over this next year, hopefully 2.

Now that's a good mentor. FVV is perfect for him.

I do too because that means we are blowing teams out—but will he or McVeigh be #15?

I don't know @Nook if I agree it's good for him to primarily work on his wing skills while taking 3's and D in game.

Whenever he's asked what he worked on, he talks about his handle and finishing. No one is expecting that from him.

He hasn't delivered on being an elite shooter and defender. That promise isn't going away just like being an average defender won't fulfill Jalen's potential for example. It's secondary. I understand Silas delayed his development too but what that means to me is he now has to catch up to the core production we expected of him. He needs to be a better 3PT shooter and defender. He talks like those are forgone conclusions or not so important. They're not. We need that from him and more importantly we need him to enjoy doing it. Tari would love to do that.

I believe it will take him years to get to the point he can be a secondary playmaker for a playoff team. I don't mind him working on that stuff as a secondary thing.

I know he will do it but I just hope he doesn't wait too long. I agree on Tari, if he's healthy match any offer. That's a guaranteed future NBA starter and even if he doesn't fit with us we can get a great pick for him. If I had to bet money right now at this trajectory and mindset Jabari is adopting, I'd say Amen and Tari will be starters at forward next season.

We drafted someone who literally cannot make a 3 pointer...

Rockets draft Reed because of his shooting.

But the kid does not shoot.

Reed played too passive today, which isn’t unexpected for his first nba action. What’s encouraging is that for a poor game he still stuffed the stat sheet. Make 2 of the 4 threes and it would have been a great line.

First game as a rookie, as we learned with other players they develop over years. He'll be fine

Time to cut him. We were promised 50% 3 pt shooting but instead got .... 0%. Stone should be on the hotseat with Ime on his lap for this first-game atrocity.

See you in the G-League, you horrible horrible person!

We saw against the Jazz Reed will need an adjustment period. His hands on defense impressed me. Not worried about his shooting at all.

His grasp of an NBA offense will take some time but he'll get it soon enough.

I don't care if he ever hits a shot. What matters is that when the Rockets drafted him, they also drafted that dope ass mustache. People tend to forget that, but over the course of a long season it's going to be important.

Last time we got a guy with facial hair it worked out good for us. Why not try it again.

This thread took a great turn :D

I personally am looking forward to his first breakout game and post game interview with a mustache.

"Yes, I'm a country boy with a mustache. But I just had 20 and 10 with a win on your team."

Ned Flanders look doing it for you?

I preferred the Tax Man personally. He needs a clean face so he can shoot 3s unimpeded.
