Josh Heupel lost. This is the way. If the Woke Bears can hold on against the Convicts, it’ll be a trifecta of unranked teams beating top 10s today.
It's 12:12 am Sunday Miami time and halftime just started. I wonder how the 'Canes are enjoying a taste of Pac 12 Late at Night. They might try some coffee during the break to help stay awake through the 2nd half.
At this rate, they CFP might have a bunch of 8-4 teams in it. The disappointing part of a 12 team playoff is that none of these upsets matter. In a 4 or 6 team playoff, they could be elimination games. As it stands, Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee can all lose again - maybe even twice - and still make the playoff.
The upsets do matter because some of the losing teams will end up missing the playoff. The difference is the cut line is 12 teams instead of 4. It is true one individual bad loss doesn't guarantee elimination, but for teams that finish 13-16, one of their losses broke the camel's back.
Sure - but you get multiple do-overs now. Alabama and Tennessee play each other in a few weeks, along with Georgia/Texas. The losers of those games will still not be elimated. They could lose a 3rd game and STILL possibly not be eliminated. It just doesn't matter that much. You could very well have 3 loss national champion, which really shouldn't ever happen.
I don't see why so-called "do overs" are bad. It keeps drama and hope alive for more programs and makes games matter longer into the season. Arguing the entire 11-game regular season should be similar to a single-elimination tournament seems insane to me. IMO, in a few years, nearly everyone will see how nutty it was to limit the CFB playoff to 2 or 4 teams. Listening to NCAA staff spouting "we don't want an NFL-style playoff" year after year made me want to scream. It's ~20 years late, but D1-FBS finally came out of its small closet and joined every other sport at the outdoor party.
As a college player, yes. He is a warrior and will be a Heisman finalist unless Miami really goes south.
As much as I don't like the refs influencing the game, that was a clear targeting that should've lost it for Miami.
If that is not targeting, there is no such thing as "targeting" Keep the QB safe, huh? You bunch of ********ers
I cannot wait for someone, the next guy maybe, maybe the guy after that...to beat the **** out of Miami. They are not a good team.
