Bottomline: The Texans haven't played well in the first four games and are a work in progress. Expectations have far exceeded their actual performance to date.
I was curious. So doing my own Rodgers research again: Has the defense regressed from last season? Keep in mind, Wilson/Ridder and Flacco(regular season) all looked like all pro qbs against the defense. Bryce Young had the best game of his career. 87.5 passer rating allowed in 2023 This season: Opposing Qbs are only throwing for an 87 passer rating which is really good. And if you take away 2 gifted touchdowns from special teams F ups and a tip ball drill, it's a 76 passer rating. outstanding. Ward has been way off in coverage. Terrible in 2 of those games. Murray has been bad but has contributed with some major plays in three games. Concerns: *Lassiter has bitten on a double move with no safety help within 20 yards 3x, miscommunication/ inexperience. Thankfully no damage done. Not my fault QBs that were being hyped this offseason can't connect on those passes. All we can do is hope Lassiter keeps taking strides. *The Linebacker rotation being on thin ice. *Interior D line but we can McGyver it for another 2 weeks. I Don't think the defense regressed. It's the same. Which I guess it's a bad thing because there was an exodus of players who weren't Swarm-y enough. Not so Secret Weapons to make this defense elite: *The return of Harris *The return of Mixon to win T.O.P * The return of Autry. * More Bullock
Why? Reportedly he is available for a 2nd round pick, but if it would really take a good player and 2nd round pick, I’d substitute Tank for Diggs.
Not that I would do it, but just generally I wouldn't pay the starting asking price for any player. Generally both the team and the player want to be payed for the same value which results in either an overpay or discontent.
On the bright side, we are 3-1 with only one moderately decent game and under-performing special teams defense.
It’s all conjecture of course and we have much greater need at other positions, but CJ with a Trio of Nico, Adams, and Diggs? Super Bowl bound. Of course next year you would really need a cheap alternative to step in for Diggs.
Just NO! Collins is Momentum. Tank is Accelerator. Diggs is Precision. Schultz is Security. Mixon is Operations. The rest are SURPRISE! MAP SOS
I hope we're both at full strength and playing well. And I'm looking forward to seeing how we do with Autry back.
I haven't heard anything recently, but I predicted JJ's return on Nov. 1 after the Thursday game so he can get into prime shape for THE RUN right after the schedule came out.
Someone tell the punting team to stop sabotaging the team. Outside of kai'mi, the whole special team is not helping.
The Texans really haven't looked good overall. Having said that, not many teams have been great to start the season. The Chiefs are the Chiefs so they'll get the benefit of the doubt, but aside from them only the Vikings have looked like an actual great team.I guess we'll see who steps up as the year goes on, hopefully it's us. However meh they've looked, 4-1 is 4-1.
