As predicted, the Election Integrity Unit is likely to target American citizens. This represents, at best, an overly aggressive government. At worst, it revives the age-old tactic of voter intimidation. This shouldn't be happening in 2024, but it is.

LULAC calls for federal probe as members targeted in AG Ken Paxton's search for voter fraud

The League of United Latin American Citizens in Texas is calling for a federal investigation over an effort by Attorney General Ken Paxton's office to ferret out illegal voter registration operations, which the civil rights group argues is meant to disenfranchise Latino voters via "police state tactics."

While Paxton's office has recently initiated a series of "undercover operations to identify potential voter registration of noncitizens in Texas," Gabriel Rosales, state director for Texas LULAC, said in a statement Friday that Paxton's office had gone too far by targeting the homes of elderly citizens and LULAC members in South Texas.

"I have been contacted by elderly residents who are confused and frightened, wondering why they have been singled out," Rosales said. "Attorney General Paxton's actions clearly aim to suppress the Latino vote through intimidation and any means necessary to tilt the electoral process in favor of his political allies."

In the statement, Rosales said incidents had occurred recently in Dilley, a town set between Laredo and San Antonio along Interstate 35, with one such encounter resulting in law enforcement forcibly entering a private residence. At least five individuals were involved in the interactions, three of whom belonged to LULAC, Rosales told the American-Statesman on Friday.

"We're just as confused as everyone else," Rosales said. "We're not clear at this point, what we are doing is calling a meeting with the Department of Justice and to see if we can file a formal complaint."

Cecilia Castellano, the Democratic candidate for state House District 80, told the Houston Chronicle on Friday that her home was raided Tuesday and that her phone was confiscated by law enforcement.

Rosales said the encounters all occurred at private homes and that officers took phones and computers in search of voter information that was alleged to have been obtained illegally.

"We feel like they're violating our civil rights, especially with highly contested elections that are coming up," Rosales said, refuting officers' claim.

On Tuesday, Paxton’s office announced its Election Integrity Unit executed multiple search warrants in Frio, Atascosa and Bexar counties tied to an ongoing investigation over allegations of election fraud and vote harvesting during the 2022 election cycle.

Paxton then announced on Wednesday that the unit had began conducting "undercover operations" in major metropolitan areas in Texas to identify and prevent the illegal registration of voters, accusing nonprofit organizations of setting up registration efforts near Texas Department of Public Safety driver license offices.

    ...

Rosales called the actions of Paxton's office reckless and hate-fueled in announcing the connection of the raids to LULAC — the nation's oldest and largest Hispanic civil rights organization.

"It is disgraceful and outrageous that the state of Texas, and its highest-ranking law enforcement officer, is once again using the power of his office to instill fear in the hearts of community members who volunteer their time to promote civic engagement," Rosales said. "We urge you to continue organizing and mobilizing in your neighborhoods and cities to ensure what could be the most significant Latino voter turnout in Texas history."

Polling in Texas has Paxton and Abbott freaked out im sure. There’s no way they will sit on their butts and not use their power in an autocratic way to ensure that the Dem vote is mired down is diminished. They will spend all their efforts to make sure every person in Harris county with the last name Johnson, or Robinson is kicked off the voter roles. They will be pulling out all the stops and won’t give a damn about any repercussions down the road from a Harris DOJ.

Remember it’s an absolute travesty that Democrats are trying to keep the Green Party off ballots by challenging them legally. It’s perfectly fine and justified for Republican states to “scrub voter rolls” change voting rules, and pass laws that would allow the legislature to overturn their state elections.

    https://gov.texas.gov/news/post/gov...on-ineligible-voters-removed-from-voter-rolls

Since Governor Abbott signed Senate Bill 1 into law in 2021, Texas has removed over 1 million people from the voter rolls, including:

    Over 6,500 noncitizens
Over 6,000 voters who have a felony conviction
    Over 457,000 deceased people
Over 463,000 voters on the suspense list
Over 134,000 voters who responded to an address confirmation notice that they had moved
Over 65,000 voters who failed to respond to a notice of examination
Over 19,000 voters who requested to cancel their registration
    Total Over 1.1 million

Of the over 6,500 noncitizens removed from the voter rolls, approximately 1,930 have a voter history. The Secretary of State’s office is in the process of sending all 1,930 records to the Attorney General’s Office for investigation and potential legal action. To better crackdown on illegal voting, Governor Abbott signed House Bill 1243 into law last year, increasing the penalty for illegal voting, including voting by noncitizens, to a second-degree felony.

Two men, Williams Burns and Randall Bassett Sr., have been charged with felonies for voting twice in the 2022 election, the first known criminal prosecutions for Georgia voting fraud in recent years.

The indictments come with maximum prison sentences of 10 years.

Grand juries in Forsyth and Fannin counties this month indicted the defendants for casting in-person ballots in Georgia and voting again in other states — Arizona and Texas — during the November 2022 midterm elections.

Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger sought the prosecutions based on data generated by the voter accuracy organization ERIC, which identified these voters by matching election records across its 24 member states and the District of Columbia.

“Any illegal vote undermines a citizen’s legal vote,” Raffensperger said. “One citizen, one vote — anyone who tries to run up the scoreboard will be prosecuted.”

Burns is facing felony charges for false registration, voting by an unqualified elector and repeat voting in the same election. If he’s found guilty, each charge comes with a sentence of one to 10 years imprisonment and a $100,000 maximum fine.

The second person accused of double-voting is 69-year-old Randall Bassett Sr. of Cumming, who allegedly voted in-person in Georgia on Nov. 1, 2022, and also returned an absentee ballot to Maricopa County, Arizona.

Bassett, who consistently voted in Republican primaries in Georgia since 1992, didn’t return phone messages seeking comment. He faces one count of repeat voting.

The woke Heritage Foundation, progenitors of Project 2025, and hero to commodores everywhere, has been investigating voter fraud since 1979.

They have a searchable database you can research and see just how vast this nationwide scourge of voter fraud permeates the populace.

I can save you the trouble:

    1,561 cases of voter fraud

    Since 1979...

Out of approximately 100+ million votes per election...

    Do the math...

Guess how many of those 1,561 involve noncitizens? 41. Yet that doesn't stop Heritage from spreading deceptive posts about noncitizen voting.

Issue after issue, the facts are against MAGA Republicans, and that's why all they have left is to lie. This is the first presidential campaign built almost entirely on lies. Nearly everything is a lie. And this isn’t surprising. When the Republican candidate for president is a shameless pathological liar, it’s inevitable that he would lead the whole campaign into a web of lies, and that’s exactly where we are now.
