When you think a typical politician is too honest, what does that make you? Pence is as loyal as they come, but he won’t break the law. He’s a typical politician (yes, they often mislead) who upholds values and morals. But that is considered 'too much honesty' for Trump.
Pointing out states is too broad. Crime rates in these "dangerous" states are mostly driven by specific cities. It’s too lazy to blame state-level governance when urban areas with vast majority local Democrat leadership are the ones seeing the spikes in crime. Suburban and rural areas in those same states have much lower crime rates, and these are typically Republican led spots. The issue is more complex than just who the governor is.
And to add again Minneapolis crime rate is dropping. I only had to fight off three violent migrants while getting coffee this morning. Five years ago it would’ve been at least six.
I always find the conservative fascination with whether a city is blue or red to be odd. What I can say is that Minneapolis for example, I would FAR rather live there than most other places. The same is true with San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, Austin, Houston, NYC, Chicago - I would rather live in these places than most other parts of the USA. So, if we are going to blame Democrats for crime in these areas - do we give them credit for the fact that so many people want to live in these areas? I just find a lot of it insincere - and a lot of opinions are from people that have never lived in these areas. That isn't to say that they are utopias - no place is, but they are overall good to very good places to live - especially if you have money.
They’re a democrat but Walz isn’t the same Person as Jacob Frey. Also if you’re going to blame problems on Minneapolis on Walz because he and Frey are Democrats then Walz deserves credit for the success of Edina, Eden Prairie and other well off cities in MN that also have Democratic mayors.
But even then, it gets nuanced with the places you named. A city may be under a Democrat mayor, but have several republican leaning areas. These Republican/Conservative leaning areas or areas with more Republicans/Conservatives again tend to be the safer spots in these regions. And many like being in the city but suburbs are popular too for a reason.
I don’t know if you’ve ever been to Minnesota or know much about it. The communities i cited in my previous post are very affluent areas but also have Democratic mayors and vote very Democratic. I suspect the same is true of many other major metropolitan areas.
Do people even go outside in MN half the year? There should be no crime from November to April. I kid, I kid. But I hope Judoka does practice good situational awareness while he traverses Minneapolis. His contributions to this forum are appreciated.
Because of the blue cities located within them. And in blue states, their blue cities are more dangerous than their red cities, even if things like poverty level are the same. I didn't catch that post from you but obviously there are going to be wealthy areas that lean Democrat. But that doesn't change the fact that on average, Dem run cities and local areas tend to have more crime even if poverty levels are the same as red counties. Sure there is some rural vs urban nuance to that but that shows how complex this actually is.
You realize this is one of the dumbest things you have posted , right? Blue States have Blue cities. You're saying the Blue Cities in Blue states have less crime than Blue Cities in Red States.
You clearly missed the point. My argument is about crime being higher in Democrat-run cities, regardless of whether they’re in blue or red states. It’s not about comparing blue cities in blue states to those in red states. And funny you’re talking about dumb when youre the same guy who said people didn’t read an article, just the headline, about Biden saying Kamala was leading the border efforts, when the CBS piece literally said Biden put Kamala in charge of it
That is 100% false, go to West Virginia in the coal mine areas and check out the fentanyl usage - which is criminal.....there is crime everywhere, the HIGHEST crime rates have ZERO to do with anything other than money - the poorer the area the higher the crime rate. Generally speaking....nothing to do with Red or Blue... DD
Really? There is a big difference between drug use as a crime (basically just the legality of drugs and where it is consumed) vs property crime (taking from someone) vs violent crime (harming someone). Stop it.
