Good chance for Silas. The situation here was meant to tank & a little unfair for him. Glad he's getting a second chance

For the last time: tanking does not mean not coaching. Tanking does not mean forgetting about team culture. Tanking does not mean neglecting player development. Tanking does not mean the head coach is scared of both players and management. Tanking does not mean playing a coach's "system" or else. A team can tank and still improve if they have decent coaching. Silas was not a decent coach. Hell, he was barely a coach at all.

There is a way to teach and lose. See Popovich.

You don’t go to the podium and cry.

I understand that Stephen was going through a lot, but the post game interviews alone were a lesson in weak leadership. Zero personal accountability exhibited.

    Exactly!
Fans, "We want to tank for Wemby!"

Same fans, "Why do we look so bad while tanking?!!!"

I don't understand how Silas could earn this job. Are there no other coaches that want the work?

Silas is not fit to be a coach even at the little dribblers level.

Silas is a good dude. But you can't tell me there aren't more deserving coaches for that opportunity.

What was he supposed to do? Just about anything other than hanging his head and sulking like a fat kid that dropped a Twinkie in the pool.

    Thank you.

I think Udoka inadvertently said it best: “I can’t figure out why they did what they did before but we aren’t doing it that way now.”

Team USA will have a 14% chance of getting the top pick.

**** that guy. I was so sympathetic to his situation all the way till near the end of his tenure. He never applied for the job saying he's good at building a team from scratch so I was 0% surprised he sucked and sulked. Was stupid of the team to dupe him (we now know Stone knew Harden was gone). Hell we all knew Harden was gone.

Now that I saw the results of his work last season (Udoka's first season), it really made me understand Silas and some vet coaches can not just become a cohesive development program. Look at Udoka's crew, they are development experts, they understand how to motivate players that are not yet self motivated, they understand habits take time and repetition to add/remove. They have the resilience necessary for it.

Stone shares some blame too for that horrid development program. Shout out to @Nook who tried to convince me Silas was ruining these players but I wasn't having it back then.

As for Team USA, good luck to them.

Can't judge talent, can't actually teach while losing, can't adjust his style to his best players, disliked our best player and tried to bury him for guys who can't cut it in the NBA...list goes on and on, and none of them are good excuses for tanking. He even made McHale look like a coaching genius in comparison. No to Sil@ss, worst 3 years of my life as a Rockets fan. I wish him the same level of success he had with us the rest of his career.

So glad we have Ime leading the ship with real accountability and coaching skills. Willing to throw in Felicia to Ime if necessary to keep him around.

He seems like a nice guy, but he did a bad job in Houston. Wasn't dealt an easy card, but even so.
