Sga played under Doc, Lue and Daigneault and in college under Calapari, If you say Silas is anything close to them then you obviously don't know basketball
Look who’s talking. Have you moved on from KPJ? Or will you ever? Bring back KPJ! Give him his 5th (or is it 6th) chance! - DD LOL
If you think calapari is a good coach you are outs your mind. Amazing recruiter, as a coach as bad as it gets
Ya i would never take away from his ability to recruit. Give silas an nba roster that was equal to cal’s kentucky roster and he easily wins a championship (obviously)
Amazing recruiter and still made a lot of great pro players , kids still get structure and foundations..
Still would not trust Silas even in College because his biggest weakness was he never stood up to young star players. Can't handle personalities, what makes you think he can handle KAT, Wall, Cousins or Dillingham? You could run circles around him and his goofy silly smile.
I said give him an nba roster that was equal to cal’s. If silas had 7-8 of the top 20 players in the nba he’d win 70ish games and a title with ease.
Calipari sucked as an NBA in game coach. However, he developed lots of players that made it to the NBA. Understood how to establish a winning culture. You guys have to make up your mind about whether coaching or winner environment matters. You can't just decide it doesn't matter when we're talking about one particular player.
so blame Silas and Ime for "dumb shots" and "Green thinks he's good from everywhere and he's just not" ?
So could 98.8% of coaches win with the Boston team last year. Silas is here mainly because of his dad and his reputation. Assistant for lyfe. That had to be the dirtiest kept secret in the league.
You can go back to the Silas hire thread, 99% were celebrating like usual when Houston signed him and I was like meh...1%, I looked that up just for that. Critical thinking was never my weakness. Beautiful women are. I do think Silas got some concepts on Offense but he is such a weak person with no backbone.
Again, do winning and culture make players better or not? Let us know what you BELIEVE rather than sitting here and trying to gaslight everyone by nitpicking at something out of context. If you're saying it's not and it's 100% on the player, then you can believe that weird thing yourself. Me and Udoka and Greg Popovic and Mark Dignault and most fans believe it matters a lot. I'm not going to sit here and explain something basketball has believed for decades. These things matter, they lead to more efficient players which lead to more winning. You want to throw your hands in the air because people think it makes a big difference, have at it. We're not falling for the faux-shock about it. It's not a respectable opinion for me.
That's not what we're talking about. Answer the question you're avoiding. Does better culture and coaching make players better? Because a better player is nothing but a more defensively and offensively efficient one.
Calipari is not a good coach when it comes to rotations and in-game decisions. I think he is probably a good development coach or at least has a good development team. He is certainly very involved in the practices as I witnessed when he coached Memphis. I take him back in Memphis tomorrow in replacement of Penny who is terrible at all aspects of coaching (and cheats).
Silas would screw up the original Dream Team. Calipari may not be the greatest in game coach but he was great at recruiting and developing players. Silas is absolute complete garbage as a coach in all aspects of the game.
