Coming from someone who was at the game… The crowd was rocking when Tucker came up with a chance to blow the game open. Air came out of the building after that shitty ass AB. That’s when the game was lost.
this is the silver lining. Im glad AJ won a playoff game at home (he did say he lives here in one of the pressers). Also— the JV/Hunter angle. Only seemed fitting that HBrown was pitching today against his childhood dream-team.
Dodger fans have no right to call anyone a "Choker" or a "Playoff Underachiever". Hunter Brown even got to experience the JV Detroit experience, 1 run given up and the team still finds a way to lose.
I was watching at a bar without the sound and it was obvious. Espada maybe is not the guy. Or maybe, the golden era is just over.
Those that never give up, always fight and always strive (thinking that's the only way) are losers in themselves and will have heart attacks at young ages. But hey, at least you can say you were there to the end. The simple fact you wrote this based on my post of "We all knew" tells the story. Calm down a bit, you may live to see grandchildren someday. In life, you pick and choose your battles. You go full tilt on everything you've already lost.
You can't have your top 5 go 2 for 17. Espada may not be Casey Stengel, but I can't blame him for that. I doubt if he signed Hader either or is responsible for his or Pressly's meltdown.
Pretty simple. A single round of 1v1 1v1 on Friday night, then best of 3 with the winners immediately following on Saturday and Sunday. Could wrap it up by Monday night. Or stretch it out to two concurrent best of five then a best of five immediately following that. Friday-Sunday, Tuesday-Thursday, Divisional series starts Saturday. Then we don't have these stupid ****ing weekday afternoon playoff games.
Pressly wasn’t a good choice either. He even gave him an extra batter to get out of it and he ****ing walked him. Paying $46M to Montero, Pressly and Hader to still have a bullpen that doesn’t lock down games is ridiculous. We shouldn’t even be having this conversation.
Espada is not going anywhere - yet. Brown chose him and the team made the playoffs despite J Abreu and the injuries. Once in, it's a crap shoot. In baseball anything can happen in 2 games and even the best players fail over 50% of the time. Brown needs to make a couple of big moves, but this team still has plenty of pieces to compete. 1) decide on 3b 2) decide on 1b 3) decide on LF/CF 4) add rotation depth. 5) decide how to handle Framber and Tucker going into FA sesson
The worst usage of money I've seen on relief pitchers since the Rockies tried buying the entire Royals bullpen a few years back.
Yeah, more just agreeing it felt like he was going to give up a run more than even leaving in Pressly and wondering if the splits actually bear that out.
If it was me, I would pay Bregman. I think this team is going to miss him more than just for his on the field production. One of the few guys left on this team that seem to have that mentality of doing anything to win. As for Tucker and Framber, I’d consider trading both this winter. Take a page out of the Padres book trading Soto. Sign Kikuchi to a deal and then shot take on someone like the Royals did with Lugo or the Braves with Lopez to give us some depth.
I want to hand out a huge FU to Rob Manfred and MLB for this ridiculous WC scheduling. You could have started 2 games at 6 and the other 2 at 8 pm each of the 3 days. Just hearing Baltimore has less than 37,000 fans at this mid afternoon game. Rob Manfred is the biggest POS in the world of sports.
He did a great job making 2 outs instead of one... smh Those kinds of numbers will help kill a Dynasty. .
