I disagree. They have a trash lineup and relied on bullpen that was largely horrid for most of the season. The Astros had no juice all year. You have to get rid of Espada and Brown.
Now and years from now, what's going to eat at Astros fans more? This 2 game sweep or Hinch pulling Greinke in game 7 or the Astros losing to the Rangers while not playing the best lineup? An extremely questionable managerial decision for game 7 and an inexcusable manager decision last year that had direct impacts on winning a championship.
Doubt Dusty would have made the playoffs this year so yeah Jose was better. Also what’s Dusty up to now?
This is like if @RKREBORN, instead of hating James Harden, had an insane hate-boner for Clint Capela instead. What an odd man.
I feel like we started badly, had a great mid-season run, and then were inconsistent toward the end. The pitching exceeded my expectations given all the injuries. I felt the offense was a letdown...mainly due to some injuries and a weak latter half of the lineup. I still feel Altuve had a mediocre season. Bregman started slow but came on strong. Yordan again affected by the injury bug. Same with Tuck. So, I didn't think we were making a run in the playoffs. I was glad we even made it. But, I wasn't feeling it much at all toward the end of the season going in. And, it's not like there is a light switch we can flip on and off when we want to.
Dusty elevated the Astros, it's not like they won a WS before he got here! Dusty taking control in 2020 made him the Barry Switzer of baseball.
