I, for one, can't wait to listen to another 3 hours of Tim Kurkjian blather on and on about the 1957 Dodgers while we're in the middle of a rally. I understand there's a time and place to give the baseball historians camera time, but giving someone like Kurkjian color commentary in a playoff series is a ****ing travesty. Between Kay acting like it was Game #93 of the season, and Kurkjian being more interested in reading off Wiki profiles of random outfielders from the 60s, the broadcast did very little to bring life to the game. I understand it was boring as **** for the most part yesterday, but if anything, that means the broadcast booth has to be even MORE energetic. Just a **** day all around yesterday from the Astros offense, to the crowd, to the telecast. Today need to be better on all fronts.
Man it would be badass if playoff teams could hear their local announcers. I know it will never happen but I wouldn’t have to watch the game on mute.
Some people are saying $11 for a ticket to a playoff game for the 2x world champions. Now Many people are saying $8 for a ticket.
That happened when Tucker was on the IL. Tucker had a great bat after his return so hopefully that can continue. Tucker was horrible in last year's postseason and had to be moved down the order in the ALCS.
IS it killer instinct or random luck. Caratini's ball had an expected batting average of 580. Heywards had an expected BA of .670. Short of hitting it over the wall they basically did all you can ask for and the ball ended up going right at Tigers players. The defensive positioning was awesome on Caratini playing him to slice one opposite field like that. Thought for sure it was a hit off the bat.
Their bullpen is one of the best in baseball. How do you think they’ve been winning with no other starting pitchers and a **** lineup?
Tell me this is a joke. We're f*cked. Cruz does nothing but show up for losses and that fat dips*** does nothing but lose.
His teammates can go ahead and do something too. If the Astros get equal luck as the Tigers, we should win today and tomorrow. .
I don’t care what Nook or anyone else says, Framber lost us that game. It’s a lot easier to pitch with a 3-0 lead than a tied or even one run game, especially in the playoffs. He got us in that hole early and allowed Skubal to pitch freely. Teams generally do not come back from 3 run deficits in the playoffs.
What is it with all the ****ing political comments? Great! You’re a dem! Wow!!! Thank you for that valuable info!! This is an Astro forum.
Wouldn't it be nice if the Astros put this game away in the first three innings? Put up 6-9 runs early. They had a 4-run inning against the Twins in Game 3 last year where they eventually won 9-1.
I'm with you. I don't think Framber did us any favors at all. That being said, the game was still within reach and their bullpen did not seem like a shutdown bullpen like you say it usually is. I believe you, I'm just saying the bullpen looked a bit shaky from DET side.
I’m a pretty big believer that this team presses way too hard when they get behind early. It changes their approach at the plate.
