I agree with this - I understand that the view of the Astros (and this includes other similar teams) was that they would just wait and at the deadline address the holes in their line up and rotation and took it for granted they would make the playoffs..... but more of these issues should have been addressed in the off season. You don't go out - get a closer, rub your hands and go home.
This series will be the Ghost of Verlander's past coming to haunt us. Should've kept him on the roster to face his old team.
Now none of you Espada apologists can justify this Hader move. I'm sure Htown will somehow someway come to the rescue. Watch him throw 27 pitches, that'll be just our luck. We will be in a position to win the next 2 games, I'm sure of it. We may be without Hader to save that 3rd game however.
I’m not sure anyone thinks Bagwell is behind the scenes and making moves by himself. A more realistic and probable scenario is that he is involved as part of the machine. How big of a part? I’m not sure anyone really knows outside of that inner circle.
