He’s already on a deal with 3 years left. As Snake mentioned, the Cardinals are trying to trade him and their other expensive players (Gray and Contreras). The original contract was 8 for $260M, but according to Spotrac, there’s a considerable amount deferred and he’s “only” at $25.5M for luxury tax purposes the next 3 seasons. He’s still a wizard defensively but don’t think that’s worth it.
Even though I’m the one who brought it up, I really don’t think Arenado makes a ton of sense. For me to like the Astros acquiring Arenado, they’d have to be giving up almost nothing and having the Cardinals eat a lot of money. And on top of that, he doesn’t make sense if he’s the only bat they add. It would need to be a low downside gamble. Willson Contreras actually makes the most sense of the 3 highly paid Cardinals players.
I've got an appointment for an MRI at 1:30 tomorrow. I forgot about the MLB playoffs and the Stros always getting screwed with the day games.
Yeah, I don't think he is going to be on it. Saw this earlier in the article about him being "50/50" on whether he is on the roster or not: The only update provided on Monday from manager Joe Espada was that Alvarez was going to hit in the batting cage and run on the field, though Alvarez wasn’t spotted on the field with his teammates during the afternoon workout. Just sounds like more BS to me and he isn't going to be out there.
Right knee. I had a bad fall a couple of weeks ago. Dog drank out of toilet, left water on floor, I got up to go to the bathroom in the morning, sipped and fell, messed my right knee up. I'm hoping it's only a bad sprain.
Watch out for the post-surgery (I had ACL/MCL/Meniscus) CPM machine, that was the most pain I've ever experienced in my life. Middle of the night I was woken up with the feeling of my knee being torn apart from the inside...it was the scar tissue breaking up.
