Trump calls all brown skinned or hispanic migrants illegals, and all of them criminals, rapists, murderers, mentally ill, drug dealers, and animals. He even says they eat your pets and come in your kitchen and slit your throat.
He wouldn’t be the first descendant of an immigrant to turn become anti-immigrant. In the 1980’s there was also a lot of negativity about illegals from places like El Salvador. Much of US history is descendants of groups that were despised like Irish and Italians then despised later immigrant groups.

Can someone explain to me the pathway in which hordes of "illegals" are being permitted citizenship and voting rights? I have DACA friends who've been here for decades and can't get it, my understanding with asylum is the courts are massively backed up, and the pathway to citizenship can often take a decade or more. What is this claim based on?
