That’s a conservative amount for drinks and souvenirs too. If your kid wants a fitted hat it’s $50, if you want beers and alcohol you’re ****ed lol
Yeah you can but I don’t want upper level no ac seats. I know you can eat and drink before the game but if I’m going to an Astros game I want the full experience for my family. Food, ice cream in a batting helmet, beers, peanuts and popcorn etc. it’s really shitty having to tell them no you can’t have Cotten candy because it’s $10 lol
I'm of the opinion you just have to deal with the cost if you want to go to a game. It's high but it's not going to change. Wish they'd make it easier to see the Stros but it is what it is
Despite the ugly start, disappointing individual seasons and the wave of injuries. The Astros still have the second best run differential in the AL. Gave almost 1000 PA (15%) to fringe MLB players/possible AAAA prospects. 65 games with basically rookie starters on the mound. We've used 55 players this season....it has been a grind.
Indeed... although I do always appreciate that in the baseball season marathon, it definitely proves you are who you are after 162 (whether its by team accomplishment or individual accomplishment). On the individual side, Altuve relatively healthy throughout... but overall stats say he probably should have had more built-in rest. Career high in K's, lowest full season OPS since 2013, not great defense. While he is still a highly productive hitter, its safe to say he's going to have age-related regression yearly (and you just hope its a gradual decline and he doesn't fall off a cliff...) Pressly with the highest WHIP in a long time and lowest SO/9 in a long time. I know there was plenty of debate as to why they were spending tons of money on Hader at the start of the year, but his second half decline LAST year in the above was a well-assessed trend that has continued to evolve (and it isn't just mental "i can't pitch in any inning other than the 9th" type stuff), made that decision turn into one that likely kept this team in playoff contention. Despite Bregman's awful start, he basically rounded into the exact same player he's been every year since his peak 2019, while playing some of the best defense he ever has. He probably has at least 2 more years of this sort of production (health willing). Framber, Yordan and Tucker are squarely in their primes and deserve all the $$$ for it Hunter Brown and Bryan Abreu are also squarely in their primes and for pitchers you just gotta ride them until the inevitable discomfort. Pena had a bounce back season and while he likely is who he is from a batter development standpoint... just staying healthy is a huge participation grade metric that goes a long way to determining whether he should get some long-term consideration. Ditto Myers, Chas, Dubon, Caratini. Solid role players that all excel at various aspects (especially if Chas can learn how to hit left-handed pitching again). Diaz has all the potential to continue to improve everywhere and if he stays healthy, he's a huge variable that may have just extended this team's window indefinitely (along with the return/results of Garcia, Javier.... and the future development of Matthews).
He's going to hit if he can hit. Won't play the field. Still may require surgery at the end of the month regardless of how he's used. Anybody who's had a meniscus or ACL injury knows that there is a window where you can still do stuff that won't make the injury worse... it just hurts like crazy and you can't push things to the extreme. LMJ pitching with a torn UCL in 2018 vibes (or his accommodated arsenal in the last time he probably will ever pitch competitively back in 2022). Of course if he does not so great at the baseball drill working... and they shut him down... i'm sure we'll then here what he's going to require from a procedure standpoint. Never a good thing when you're in your 20's and this is now possibly going to be his 3rd knee procedure?
Which knee is it? I can say from experience that having a bum front knee makes hitting difficult, and the next day is no fun at all with the swelling and the stiffness and the pain. Back leg is better, but also a hinderance. Also noticed this with bowling of all things.
Front leg... which is why i won't be surprised if they decide he's not going to swing it well enough to warrant a spot.
We did pretty well against Ragans. Lugo had his way with us in his two starts against us. We haven’t faced Wacha this year but he’s a really good pitcher who knows how to win and has a knack for it
