I’m watching for command, use of his secondary pitches, and ensuring his arm-slot is consistent to not tip. Command there. Changeup there. Curveball wasn’t consistent (best one was the one he threw Ramirez). Fastball 94-95. Slider should have netted that 2nd K. He’s going to be in consideration should they make the ALCS/WS.
Lol. I don’t think you’re seeing anything different than what I or anyone else is seeing. Even if he is hitting his spots his ball is very hittable right now. I’m sure he will be in consideration. He might even bounce back and do well today. I still wouldn’t say he hit his spot on that pitch to Ramirez but then Ramirez is a great hitter so maybe it doesn’t matter if he hit his spot.
Watch the game. Really watch it. Sequencing, which pitches are they laying off of, are they early/late on the foul balls, are they laying off border-line stuff despite 2 strikes, is his stuff breaking late or early. His curveball has a hump in it today (even though he’s throwing it for strikes)…. Probably shouldn’t use it too much.
I am. The same game you are watching. You’re doing the same thing you did with Singleton and Diaz. Just watch the game and stop trying to out-analyze everyone. It can be off putting.
Out-analyze? Like your Chas essays? Lol. You have guys you like, guys you don’t… and your posts/replies usually center around just those. And you were just holding a funeral for JV after the 1st inning. Given that he’s still probably going to be in consideration for innings in the post-season, I want to see how his stuff is start to start.
It’s just that, in all your self claimed brilliance, you are often flat out wrong on players. So trying to pass yourself off as some kind of baseball savant gets tiresome. You have a lot of good posts, but where you start to go off course is when you start claiming to see parts of the game others don’t and saying condescending things like “really watch the game”. That’s annoying. Also, try to comprehend people’s posts a little better. I clearly stated that JV may still have a good game today and I never said once that he wouldn’t be in consideration for the ALCS.
