As of now I’m cautiously optimistic that Harris will win. While polls are different most of the polls are showing her trending. The NYT Sienna poll which showed Harris tied nationally and trailing in almost all of that swing states appears to be an outlier. This doesn’t mean that the election is a certainty and the Harris campaign Should definitely continue to work as though they are the underdogs.

Unfortunately it’s not isolated. As we saw with the stories of Haitians eating pets many including the Republican ticket are just digging in. We see it here with how easy and pervasive it is to spread alarming messages of fear.
There are a few other outliers. The polls are "jumpy" but still trending toward Harris. The NYT, even as an outlier, has her winning the election 270 to 268, leading in enough of the critical swing states of PA, WI, and MI. If the NYT poll is exactly what you get on election day (of course it won’t be), Harris might actually lose the popular vote but win the EC and the presidency. Imagine the calls for abandoning the EC after that. The group-thinking is - this is an extremely close race. The polls do tell us that.... but.... It can be an extremely close race, and the result can still almost resemble a blowout victory (e.g., 320 to 210). It just takes a uniform swing of a few points to one side.
Yes it’s possible Harris wins the EC but loses the popular vote. I think that is one of the least likely outcomes. I think Trump’s best chance of winning is to duplicate what he did in 2016. I’m very certain he won’t win the popular vote. He’s done little to expand his following. While he’s might do better among nonwhite men the gender gap is substantial and what gains he might make in that group are offset by losses among women. Also the Trump strategy of going after younger men who are into things like video games and MMA might seem like a good move from a marketing standpoint but that group hasn’t proven to be a very reliable voting block and given his opposition to mail in voting I have a hard time seeing a lot of them willing to stand in line in November to vote. Also the very cynicism that Trump is cultivating undermines whether voting matters.

This election isn't even close, sorry to break it to ya on a Saturday morning.... The reason why they kicked Biden out to the curve like an old worn out dishwasher and inserted Kamala was because Trump's lead was insane especially after the failed assassination. Kamala was never elected, if primaries were to happen she wouldn't even be in the running. I don't bet but its a terrible bet for you, think about it... You would be betting on nominee that was selected not elected, one that just so happens would also make the very first women president this country has ever had. Is there something wrong with that? no but if a women was elected she would have to be brilliant and inspire a whole lot of confidence in order to take a position that has always been occupied by men. We are getting closer to the day a women leads this country but its not going to be Kamala.... Kamala the architect of absolutely nothing during her tenure as VP, the one who distances herself from Biden as much as possible because the Biden/Kamala administration has been a total disaster. If the Biden/Harris administration would have gotten anything right she would be running on that but instead defers to "I'm not the one in charge"....
