If only they told the people what the problem was earlier he would have been back sooner. It makes perfect sense to me.
Was it Keith Law that was the writer that was taking victory laps that Hunter Brown was a reliever based on his minor league scouting of him? I wonder what he has to say now
Probably celebrating that his projection that the Astros league minor league system is not going to win many games was right... oh wait.
The economy has been awful. Disposable income has taken a hit as people struggle to budget their spending. Attending Astros games is no longer in reach for many fans.
LOL. The economy is fine. Almost never affects pro sports. They were not good for most of the 1st half of the season.
This is about attendance. Many fans can't afford to go to a game. Regardless of politics, it's ridiculous to say cost of living isn't high.
It’s ****ing expensive now to take your family to a game. Tickets $60 each x4, food drinks and snacks at least $80, souvenirs for two kids $40-60. $400 for a night watching the Astros.
Horrendous that the bean counters came to the conclusion that $400 a family while seating 20k is better than charging $150 per family while selling out every night. The team regularly pulled 3 million a year through the early and mid 2000s, but money needs to be made now, future fan commitment be damnned.
The Astros still ranked 2nd in the AL in attendance this year.... as they have the last 4 years. If you look at their attendance numbers, they've been very consistent in the golden era, with minor spikes after championship years, but this year was still one of the better years (both in the golden era, and all-time). Should also be noted their TV ratings were very good again... and that's even more important now as Crane/Astros own the network. You guys can go back to trying to connect dots to politics, weather, performance, leap years, solar eclipse years, etc. etc. etc. https://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/HOU/attend.shtml (hillarious that arlington attendance was still mid after a championship year... as if their fans knew it was a fluke... aargh).
