Those stalled cars were all the way to DFW. It was crazy. I have some pictures somewhere.

The cabin I visit near Asheville is fine but the roads to it are... GONE. washed out.

Cant hide from weather anymore. Nobody is safe.

Put on your hurricane boots all you Floridians. It’s going to be a rough one.

They are fracking for oil and burn any natural gas that gets in their way?

The Asheville area might have already been impacted by rain storms earlier in the week. So the ground isn't going to absorb much additional rain from Helene.

Elsewhere on the Internet, I have see Mars Hill (North of Asheville) and Biltmore Village as having problems or soon will be having problems.

Taylor County is Southeast of Tallahassee and is at or near the expected Landfall. If everybody was leaving, I don't think that they would be that stark/harsh about the situation.

Yup. They burn it as a byproduct instead of releasing it straight into the air.

That area is beautiful but would hate to be there during a major rain event like this. I figure not only is flooding g going to be a big concern but those mountainsides probably aren’t going to be very stable.

Helene making landfall now at Cat 4 strength with 20 ft storm surge. I really hope everyone along the coast got out of the way. I saw the official telling people to write their name
And identifying info on themselves so their bodies could be identified but with a storm this strong their might not be bodies to be identified.
