    It's possible.

If he plays well, everyone will be happy and the cultists will be toxic but no one will care.

If he plays like he has the past 3 years all but the cultists will be done with him and the true cultists will follow him to his new team while some of them stay and pretend they were never cultists.

Either way, things should calm down fairly soon... though it's likely to get worse before it gets better.

If Jalen Green plays well this coming season, then there will be a lot of posters who will post a lot less here and that will be cool.

Go to last March and see the posters who were very active in their posting frequency in every other month besides that one month. A lot less toxic because those posters posted a lot less that month.

Hope Jalen does well just for that phenomenon alone.

I'm just looking forward to the bizarro world scenario when Green plays well (which is good for the team) but all of these fans get more and more upset like it's the end of the world to keep him because they're incapable of rooting for the kid.

It's definitely going to happen, they're going to use some narrative like "yeah he did it for a year but can you really trust him? What if it was a fluke year? Why was he not amazing in his first playoffs? Is he a choker? Does his game suit the playoffs?"

The extreme ones will find a way.

I don't even think it's the extreme ones. I think it'll be a LOT of people. If he gets a big contract at the end of the season they will b**** like it's the end of the world even if he makes the all-star game or wins a bunch of awards.

You think if he plays well enough to warrant a big contract there will be even a single person who's against that? That's just ludicrous

    Abso-****ing-lutly.

The time dedication in hating and crapping on the dude has to be spent somewhere IF he warrants a big contract by the end of the season and it's going to be spent either avoiding the site or finding some way to still carry on the hate by saying the decision is wrong.

Is there much time investment in your hatred of Brooks? Are you vigorously with hundreds of posts going back and forth about how much Brooks sucks?

If it doesn't apply to you, it doesn't apply to you.

The focus is because we're at a critical juncture with him and his place on the team, and the path forward is unclear at the moment. It's not because of some inherent capacity for irrational hate.

If it doesn't apply to you....

Do you say unhinged stuff like "he's a bust"? And then spend hours a day on here defending that claim?

If not, then it doesn't apply to you.

Understand everything you said here I've said myself. This is a "make it or break it year" for Green to be here long term. He needs to up his efficiency.

So ask yourself if people like me lashing back at certain comments at the reasonable criticisms or the absurd ones when I believe what i just said above?

Saying he has been a bust isn’t remotely unhinged. When you say stupid crap like this it just makes you look like a fool. So far, he has unequivocally been a bust. He might not end up being one, but to say he hasn’t been one so far is straight up lying.

You have to understand where the cultist is coming from, their opinion about Jalen Green is based entirely on irrational emotion which gets projected on all non believers.

You can't merely disagree based on all available evidence, you have to be some evil "hater".... because they simply cannot accept that normal people disagree with them for valid reasons without having their delusions shattered.

It absolutely is. No player who's top ten in scoring average in league history for all players before age 22 is a "bust" by any conceivable measure.

And yes that is with the context of the modern scoring advantage and the modern practice of high usage for 19 year olds.

He's top ten in scoring average all time before age 22 and I still think he's "disappointing" so ya I'm taking the context in to consideration because I'm not saying he's one of the top 10 greatest under 22 players in league history am I?

Saying he's a bust is unhinged. Disappointing is reasonable. "bust" is unhinged haterade. Please gather some basic self awareness here.
