    New York City Mayor Eric Adams indicted by federal grand jury: Sources



    The exact charges remain sealed as of Wednesday night, but the initial investigation expanded from campaign finance to bid-rigging and more, sources said.
    But the federal investigation has focused at least in part on whether Adams and his campaign conspired with the Turkish government to receive illegal foreign donations.

    Adams is the city's first sitting mayor to be indicted.

    Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY, New York City Comptroller Brad Lander and former NYC Comptroller Scott Stringer were among those to call on Adams to resign

      • a sitting mayor and
      • a sitting US Senator (Mendez of NJ) can be indicted,
    • a sitting POTUS cannot be indicted, thanks to the Supreme Court's recent opinion

    Usually the simplest answer is the right one......ANYONE that breaks the law, regardless of party should face the consequences..

    I live in upstate NY.
    From what the folks on the radio are saying, this is a pretty flimsy case, and that Andrew Cuomo is in on it because he plans to run for NYC Mayor.

    I'm just passing that on.

    Why would federal prosecutors care about the ambitions of Andrew Cuomo? You think they put in work the past 2 years and are willing to sign up for more work for the next 2 years so some jerkoff can be a mayor? Good conspiracy theory if the prize of this long game is the Presidency or the Supreme Court. But who wants to do that to engineer a mayorship? Occam's Razor says they instead do it because they think he's guilty and they have the evidence to prove it.
