Stefon diggs will be the unraveling of this team. I predicted this before the season we didn’t need this locker room cancer. Oh well
They won't. Jags have no pass rush. They still try to play man without aggressive press despite 3 starters being injured. Plus they do this stupid thing where they are always rotating LB and DT, so there are alot of 3rd and 4th downs or red zone plays without their best players. They also cannot keep containment on QB to save their life. As in Tua was able to break contain, and Deshaun Watson looked like his old Houston self against the Jag contain. Any pick/rub play will get guys wide open. On defense, Andersen and Hunter will destroy Cam Robinson or Walker Little if he has to play. Then as a alternative look, they can just run a few twists which will confuse the Brandon Scherff. Plus there is no need to bite on any play action at all.
Daniels, Burrow, Allen. Constantly throwing to wide open players on schemed up offense. We haven’t seen that all year. Our offense is totally reliant on 3rd and long passing conversions with zero flow on first/second down.
Thing that makes me nervous is there 0-3 and now have something to prove, we will get their best effort, there back is against the wall and jobs are on the line
only when tank dell went down for the season and teams started shadowing nico look at josh allen this season and last night does he look like he is missing diggs lol cj stroud hopefully wont see a rise in interceptions from forcing diggs the ball instead of hitting the open man. I saw some worrying signs with the team last week, i know how this is gonna end because its the same thing that happened with jameis winston in tampa when they signed another malcontent in desean jackson when they didnt need to as godwin was already emerging. Players like randy moss, diggs, terrell owens and desean jackson understand the optics of the advantage they have in the media when their qb is black. If the wr starts complaining he will be compensated for rumors he secretly gives to media hacks like sas, and chad ochocino.. look at how andy reid handled the kardious toney situation last szn.. that situation will also unfold here if the texans do not immediately cut diggs RIGHT NOW The elite in the nfl want demeco ryans and cj stroud seperated, they were able to get this done with jameis winston in rookie season with lovie smith( who was the only defender for jameis in the 2015 draft in the bucs organization) the bucs organization wanted mariota. The problem was that jameis with lovie as his coach was able to improve the bucs win total by +4 from the previous year when they won 2 games and the nfc south was much tougher back then with mvp level brees/cam and matt ryan and they still had an outside shot at the playoffs in winstons rookie yr until they collasped down the stretch. Lovie knew the value of a running game for a young gunslinger like jameis to keep defenses honest and was suprised he got pushback he got from the bucs brass for disagreeing about the status of doug martin and the possibility of drafting a running back like dalvin cook who was teammates with jameis at fsu. The bucs instead took a NT which turned out great for the bucs looking back at it now, but at that time the bucs needed to support their young qb with a run game. The good thinghere in this case is i believe that demeco making the playoffs in his first year and the fact that it appears that according to some sources the texans front office comes to cj stroud to get his input on players to improve the team.. which is great to hear
I think Diggs has been fine thus far. However did you predict Laremy Tunsil would get 10 penalties in 3 games too?
I think its about direct result of the zone defense. Trying matchup after playing zone could be confusing.....just a thought. But Houston DBs just do not matchup well
They really just need to find their rhythm and chemistry on the field. Our running game is heavily reliant on the playmaking of a Mixon type... and even he can't save us with his age and worn tread on those tires. Our line is more to blame than the receivers so far.
I worry about that with most teams. But the Jags have no heart or spine over the past 2 seasons. If the Texans punch them in the mouth to start, they will fold. I would argue the Texans choose to take the ball if they win the toss to do just that. T-Law's contract isn't that bad honestly. It's basically what Geno/Daniel Jones are making. $200 million for 5 years with no dead cap, or $131 for 3 years with $41 dead cap and less if they find someone who will trade for him a la every OC's love for Sam Bradford back in the day. It is still the Texans Division to rule, but they better take advantage right now when Stroud and Anderson are on rookie deals.
Texans OC Bobby Slowik has his work cut out for him. Through three weeks QB CJ Stroud has the second most drop backs on 3rd and longs(7+) It’s a big reason why the Texans are 20th in 3rd down conversion(35%). The Texans are averaging 4.5 yards per play on first and second downs, 30th. Harder for Stroud to operate if he’s facing longer third downs.
Fair, but looked at least 2/7 redzone trips were from a blocked punt inside the 10 and a tipped int inside the 15.
