I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how good he has been in the OF defensively. Dude has a cannon for an arm.
The thing is the Dodgers play the Rookies in their last series while the Padres play the Diamondbacks who are still playing for the last WC spot.
If it wasn't for the 2005 team that started 15-30, this would be the best season comeback in team history. This is the most gratifying division title I have ever witnessed. I also don't want to dunk on the Mariners too much right now, remember last season....we stole the division from Texas and they ended up with the last laugh. I don't want to see Seattle or their elite pitching in the wild card round.
Any guesses at the hangover lineup? CF Meyers SS Kessinger DH Tucker 3B Whitcomb RF Heyward 1B Singleton C Caratini LF Dubon 2B Salazar
I'd like a shirt that celebrates seven straight division championships. Any online? The one I see on the official site is just the generic "we own the ______" that is given to all division winners.
5x gold glove He has an .805 OPS as an Astro -- if he just gives .710, he's our best OF not named Kyle. I wouldn't mind him playing some CF, but Espada probably won't snatch Meyers from the lineup. His postseason numbers are '24 Jabreu bad, but he won championship with the Cubs and is well respected in the clubhouse. Maybe he's due for a good postseason.
**** this praise from rangers fans. Its not the type of relationship i desire to have with them. I want to hear the lamentations of their women.
If Altuve doesn't wake the f*ck up, then the Astros have no chance of doing anything in the post-season. I'm hoping we get the real Altuve in the post-season. He just hasn't been in a factor in a lot of games.
Let Kessinger play for Bregman. Need as much rest for that elbow as possible. Also Salazar for Caratini or Diaz.
Some say he was never the same after getting hit in the jaw in 2013. He struggled on the inside pitch ever since then. Last night he actually set up in a lot more then usual. I'm so happy for the dude, such a good guy and teammate.
Hasn't Caratini caught all of Kikuchi's starts? They aren't going to mess with that going into the postseason. Bregman is a headscratcher unless Bregman is telling Espada he wants/needs the playing time to get ready for the playoffs. I think he'll gets pulled after a few at bats. Now that I'm thinking about it...they are going to do Bregman the way they did Correa in the last home game of 2021 where he gets pulled with a standing ovation due to his impending free agency.
