The trophies feel like they should be at the arena, not the practice facility.

Does it matter? The team got to the finals.

Anyways, I said it jokingly, I wasn't trying to hate on Tilman. These days, I don't care much anymore while the young talent is developing.

That's so dumb when you think about it. NBA should make a trophy for the owner and a trophy for the team. So that when teams are sold, they always have an original.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they rent the place out when the Rockets are out of town. Corporate events, weddings, bar mitzvahs.

Now he has to build a New Toyota Center with the Mural because cannot have the Practice Facility be bigger and top the place you are actually playing at.

Tilman barely has a white hair at 67.

Best part of the facility and sincerely, they could have added this mural to the old one and called it a day....

this is such a low iq take… lol he’s the owner. When a player or gm or coach is gone he will still be here. He spent billions on this team. Imagine him having the audacity to consider his convenience! Idiocy.

See it this way....yes he is owner of the team and maybe more.

    • The Rockets Brand existed way before him and will continue to exist after him, he is merely owning the Product Rockets now.
    • And every consumer can criticize a product that has been brought out. Plus those responsible.
    • The difference between a Founder and a Temporary owner (rich as he might be) I do not have to explain it to you.
And Ferntits is not the Founder.

When the Houston Rockets host their annual public practice on Sunday, they will unveil changes as large as 34-by-57 feet and as small as roughly 2½ inches-by-2½ inches. They could be equally conspicuous.

The Rockets will add a uniform sponsor patch showcasing their frequent partner, Memorial-Hermann Health Systems, the title sponsor of their new practice facility and basketball headquarters that opened this summer.

They will also show off the new 6,200 square-foot video board at Toyota Center, an increase of 84% more LED surface area than the video board in past seasons. Though some of the advantages of the new technology, made possible by a new control room, will be held for opening night Oct. 23, the advancements with a new video screen should be obvious on Sunday.

“Like anything, technology tends to improve,” Rockets president of business operations Gretchen Sheirr said. “People’s reliance on video and interaction is important. This scoreboard has a continuous screen all around so there’s no hard edges like the previous scoreboard. So, there’s no obstructed view in any area. It allows our game presentation and our production staff to get super creative with the intro and video usage.”

In addition to being taller, allowing the board to be more clearly seen by customers in the suite level and upper deck, by being wider and rounded, it can be seen more clearly by fans sitting in the baseline seats.

There is also a continuous ring of “underbelly” video boards under the main scoreboard, angled toward the fans that are courtside and in the lower bowl seats.

There are also “rocket boosters” on the boards that Sheirr said “help simulate the launching of the Rockets” that will be used in introductions and after wins. Much of the increased functionality is tied to the new control room, with Sheirr comparing the board to buying the best high-definition television with the control room determining whatever is seen on it.

There is also a renovated and upgraded club with new dining facilities on the lower level on the east of the arena behind the benches. To improve access to the club, courtside seats were removed to add access to the hallways in that area.

The renovations that began several seasons ago — including the new Toyota Center roof, new LED boards, upgraded marquee, arena signage and fiber technology needed for the new scoreboard — will cost $30 million.
