I haven't seen Tunsil get so much well deserved criticism, even Baldy got in the mix. After the Baltimore Game it was more like, "That line was not ready for the moment." The 2019 trade thread was highly controversial but it had nothing to do with his serial drive killing .
So essentially 3.5 vs 4.25? No real substantial difference there it seems, what I’m not understanding is all the data seems to say we should be doing better. Receiver separation, on target, blocking we are all relatively in the positives. Stats aren’t matching the production
Nothing cripples a play faster than interior pressure. This is not a popular opinion, but CJ is not seeing the field the same way as last season yet. There is a bunch of underneath stuff he's just not looking for while he enjoys one of the higher 'time to throw' measures in the league. Plays are slow developing mainly because he's looking too far downfield. These newfound metrics are also full of holes in regards to what each outlet considers a pressure.
Every year it’s the same ole song and dance, promises that the O-line will be top echelon. But year after year, besides 2013, it’s disappointing results. I’m still hoping that as the team plays more and more together, they will get it. But those are probably my rose colored glasses, which I keep in my drawer when being hopeful that the Texans will meet the national media hype.
1. David Bakhtiari, OT, Packers. Age: 32. David Bakhtiari is an amazing left tackle when healthy, but he has a checkered injury history. Walter Football comment above. Would love to bring in Bakhtiari and see if he can take over the position from Tunsil and then trade his arse for whatever we can get.
I keep going back to the Pittsburgh game last year, where they had a patchwork o-line and no running game going against TJ Watt and Highsmith. Yet somehow Stroud and Slowik carved them up with short passes.
