In the meantime some posters even here continue to insist that Vance is a great asset to Trump who appeals moderates.

I like Jessica. She is very level headed and I am glad she is a regular on Fox News.

You make it sound like I support Sharia law.

I'm 100% for the separation of church and state because religion is often repressive, and it's immoral to push religious beliefs onto everyone. You have the freedom to practice your religion as you want (as long as you aren't harming others), but not to use the state to impose it on others. That's what Sharia law is and why it's dangerous. And that's what Christian nationalism is and why they are dangerous.

Coming back to today in the U.S., Trump, who might not even know it himself since he only cares about satisfying his ego, is surrounded by Christian nationalists who are ready to execute their Project 2025 on day one.

Was that the same conversation where Trump praised Waltz handling of the riots - or was that another conversation.

As a MAGA - you have to be a little concerned that he was talking to a Communist tampon lover like Walz.

    It is possible.

    Prove that IT isn't true.

Prove that they never said it.

The debate should be really interesting. I wonder how many lies, exaggerated or made up stories, and racist remarks will spew from Vance's mouth.

I expect Vance to be much more disciplined than Trump and not take bait from Walz to make angry unhinged comments.
What will be difficult for Vance though is defending comments that Trump and others in the Trump orbit have made.

I brought this up in another thread but when Vance was asked about comments made
By Laura Loomer the started out giving a good answer decrying it nut ended
Up making it awkward and undercutting his message by bringing up fried chicken.

Vance will likely hit Walz on things like the Walz he retired at and when he retired.

I’m not expecting much surprises out of this debate and it will probably not end up making an overall change in the race.

How will the VP debate begin and who will stand where?
Walz will stand behind the podium on stage left, which is the right side from the viewpoint of the moderators and on screen. Vance's podium will be on the opposite side. Walz and Vance are to remain behind their podiums for the duration of the debate. They will be introduced by the moderators beginning with the candidate of the incumbent party, meaning Walz will be introduced first.

    Will there be opening statements?
There will be no opening statements.

How long will the VP debate last?
There will be 90 minutes of debate time, starting at 9 p.m. ET, with two breaks of four minutes each.

    Will there be an audience?
Like the debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump in Philadelphia, there will be no audience in the studio.

How long will candidates have to answer questions?
For each question, the candidate who was asked the question will have two minutes to answer, and the other candidate will be allowed two minutes to respond. Following that, each candidate will have one minute for additional rebuttals. And the moderators may at their discretion give candidates an additional minute each to continue a topic.

Lights in front of each candidate will indicate how much time they have left to speak. The candidates will also each have a countdown clock.

The moderators will be seated and will be the only ones in the room permitted to ask questions.

    Closing statements
At the end, candidates will have two minutes each for closing statements. A coin toss was held on Sept. 26 to allow the winner to choose the order of closing statements. Vance won the toss, and elected to go second, so he will have the final word.

Will mics be muted while the other candidate talks?
CBS News reserves the right to mute the candidates' microphones, but otherwise, they will be hot.

Will candidates get questions in advance?
Candidates will not receive any questions in advance, nor will they receive any topics in advance.

Additionally, campaign staffers are not permitted to interact with Walz and Vance during breaks. And candidates are not allowed to have props or pre-written notes on the stage. They will be given a pen, a pad of paper and a water bottle.

I'd have a lot more faith in Waltz leading the country than Vance if they had to take over as President for some reason. I mean Vance is a guy recommended and pushed for Trump to choose by Trump Jr. and Tucker. These guys travel the country in their far right conspiracy tour with guys like Alex Jones speaking along with QAnon kook MTG. Not only that, Vance makes up BS and has admitted it, to stir up racial hate. He's also a guy who has thrown all his previous beliefs about Trump out the window to suck up to the orange man for power. Not only that, he's a big fan of Project 2025. I'd trust Walz, a retired military Vet and teacher who isn't a flip flopping liar any day.
