Tunsil has seemingly unlocked the secret to not getting your QB injured. The more CJ and the offense stays off the field, the less chance he gets hurt! That's why he commits those drive-killing penalties on purpose.
Why you can't bench Tunsil? Why not? The o-line played effective with Tunsil and Howard out all last yr. If Demeco is that COACH, he needs to make a statement!
Well, if you replace your best oline player with a backup, would we be better or worse? What if we replaced nico with a backup? You can bench whoever you want, just depends on what your goals are. Protecting stroud is the most important thing to me and tunsil is far and away our best at that.
No, Im saying everybody saw what happen against Minnesota and what's been going on the last couple of yrs. Nothing has changed! And it's up to the HC to put a stop to it. Even if it's one game but Demeco needs to send a message of what is acceptable and not.
And that's why this will continue. If your highest paid player and team captain can play like that, what does it tell the other players?
I think you know why but to answer your question, yesterday was Stroud's 3rd bad game since he's put on a Texan's uniform. With Tunsil, this has been an issue since he's put on a Texan's uniform. False starts, illegal formation, etc. It was a problem with DW4 at QB and it's a problem now with Stroud. And to be paid $25M a yr and a consistent All -Penalty player, you would think he would have fixed it by now.
Would be nice if he didn't have those penalties, even if some are not deserved or his fault. Overall though he's the best player on offense, easily our best oline player, so benching him just to hurt the team to "make a statement" is still insane
Like I said before, Tunsil and Howard were out most of last yr and they survived. And sometimes taking away the problem can make everything else work fine
i mean he played 14 games last season, i wouldn't call that most of the year. Taking away your best pass protector at the most important spot won't make everything else work fine (crazy this needs to be said, but it's you)
I don't think Tunsil is as great as what some may think. Is he good, yes but great, no! If you factor in his penalties an avg tackle who cost less, might be just as effective overall.
Where are you getting an average tackle? At worst he’s elite at pass pro, maybe the best in the league. That HAS to have a ton of value
