I don't understand this ****...Tell me how "if it netted keeping" Tucker has anything to do with anything we're ****-all talking about
Go play whiffleball and have a snocone, kid. I just do not understand what any of your stuff has anything at all to do with Kyle Tucker. Explain.
Yordan signed an extension of his contract 6/$115 while still in arbitration. I wonder if the Astros could've done the same with Tucker before last season if they had that $20 mil/year for 3 years freed up. Pay him more for those 3 years of arbitration and keep him for an additional 3 years beyond. Maybe it doesn't work or maybe they tried and he turned it down. Either way, if that could've happened it would've been pretty cool and clever. Alas, we'll never know.
I would've been fine with Yuli as a bench bat and after Abreu got cut platooning him with Singleton. His 1B defense would've been an upgrade.
What do you think Tucker's contract will look like? I'm guessing 10 yrs 300-350 mil and there's no chance Crane goes there.
That couldn't have happened. Tucker has had zero interest in a Yordan or Bregman type deal. He is going to test the market.
Tucker is going after 300+ million bucks. He is young, mostly healthy, and has Boras as an agent. He's not giving anyone a discount.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Tuckers team is vying for a 12 year contract @ 33 million per season. I agree with you in that is going to be a tough contract to swallow for Crane, but Tucker is going to get stupid money thrown at him by several teams. And if Tucker wins the MVP next season, he may be looking at a contract in the 450 million and probably higher.
I don't mean to be glib or anything, but I just do not care at all about the offseason/contract/money/talk. It has nothing to do with actual sport on field, and it bores me to tears.
No. Abreu didn’t prevent the Astros giving Tucker the 300-350 million dollars it would have taken to sign him. Tucker has been eyeing free agency from the time he was called up. Some players are just like that. Some people want that experience and risk of betting entirely on themselves.
