    Yet again the GOP are running. A candidate that is likely going to lose a race that they should win easily. After Herschel Walker, Kari Lake (twice) and Jim Mastriano they would nominate someone different.

    While MAGA has won several very safe Red states and districts its record isn’t very good electorally. Just because Trump won in 2016 doesn’t mean that most MAGA candidates can duplicate that.

    Not a given. A good D can win a state wide election in NC. Josh Stein is a good D candidate and would have been competitive against any R cnadidate.

    The Rs could have fielded a stronger candidate but did not ... of course Trump and his overly large brain picked the worst of worst to back ... there is that.

    In general, NC BBQ is quite excellent. There are actually two or three NC regional BBQ varieties, all quite good.

    I loved that Carolina mustard-based BBQ sauce that I think is still around today. Too bad the guy who came up with it turned out to be a total racist. Or, maybe it was the BBQ restaurant line that had the sauce? I forget. I just remember there was a scandal. I used to eat at one location in Charleston, SC when my family visited our relatives there.

    I'm just keeping the Texas hate of NC BBQ alive and kicking.
    I like all BBQ if it's not smothered in Sauce.
    I do love the pickled onions they utilize on a brisket sandwich.

    I look forward to a candidate who can unite our various loves of BBQ. It may not happen in my lifetime though. I have been deeply embedded in both TX and NC barbecue and count myself incredibly fortunate. Have even enjoyed boiled peanuts and livermush in more rural areas of NC.

    Mustard? NC BBQ is vinegar based (and mostly pork shoulders, meat wise).

    Now, the Salt Lick BBQ sauce does have mustard in it ... which is commercially available and I do like.

    Here lies the problem. SC has its own BBQ, separate from NC and inferior ;) I might add.

    Yea it’s mustard and vinegar based. Back in the day, there was only the one sauce. It was orange-ish in color. Nowadays, there’s a lot of copycats.
