My point was "it is going to be close." For those seeking comfort, the Astros are the wrong team.

This win is huge for the AL West.

If the Astros go 4-7 including getting swept by Seattle, the Mariners must go 9-2.

If Astros sweep Mariners but lose every other game: 85-77

If the Mariners win every game except get swept by Astros: 85-77

    Astros win by tiebreaker.

    ( let's not do that)

Who else hates the late night games? Pleasant surprise to wake up to at least. The Astros win!

    And the Mariners lose!

I’m glad for Singleton. He has been through a lot in his career. But he showed a persistence and humility to play in the minor leagues, even going to the Mexican league.

Were you guys aware of the pitches per plate appearances, and who is the Astros leader?

From the regular playing roster, On the Team Singleton is number one at 3.987 pitches per PA. Tucker is 2nd at pitches per plate appearance, at 3.97. Heyward is 3rd at 3.8. And Bregman is 4th at 3.7. Alvarez and Altuve get about 3.5 pitches per plate appearance. Diaz is like at 3.4 and Dubon is at 3.3.

FYI I see that Kessinger is at 4.4 P/PA, but he only has 15 PA all season long.

What does that mean, Singleton is forcing pitcher to throw strikes. And don’t forget Singleton is tied for #4 with Bregman for with walks; even though Bregman has 214 more PA’s than Singleton.

Opposing pitchers fear that Singleton bat flip after the HR.

Singleton has had one bad month in July, and I think it’s because the Astros were playing him too much. Apparently his diabetic issues, gives him issues if he’s played every day. But if his playing time is managed, he will be a highly effective supporting player.

Cleveland lost last night. We are 4.5 behind them for a 1st round bye.

You guys think we have a chance?

Depends...you think the MLB wants the Astros to have a bye?

Astros could go around 5-6 the rest of the way. If 1 of those wins is against Seattle then the Mariners would have to go 10-0 the rest of the way to take the division.

I can live with those odds.

    SD- L 0-1
    LAA- Split 2-2
    Sea- 1-2
    Clev- 2-1

Can we play the rest of our games in Anaheim? We'll have this thing locked up in a few days.

    Still worried about the division?

There's only a 10% chance (at worst) it's not already done.

We need to leave Anaheim, then snatch the bye in Cleveland.. We gotta give the Guardians some L's.

I still don't see how we have a 98% chance of making the Playoffs according to ESPN. Mariners can sweep us and then it becomes very tight.

    1) Sweeps are unlikely
    2) Mariners suck on the road
    3) Mariners will still be 2 games behind even with a sweep
    4) There's barely 10 games remaining in the season.
    5) Mariners are barely .500
    6) Astros are ahead in the WC too

Ugh. Come on [throw up in mouth] Yankees.

I'm not concerned with winning a bye. Just want to get the division out of the way.

Imagine for one second that your bottom 5 batters of the order have a combined under .200 avg on the year.

    That's Seattle right now. Geez!
