This explanation by HTM is why what I said here is important: He's going to use the excuse he just laid out but still not understand it's still bigotry even if he can confirm it's a person of Hatian background.
Yeah, with @Jugdish's post. I don't mind being made fun of, even if it is "insulting", as long as it is well done lol.
Guess the journalists who looked into the situation didn’t know it was racist to even ask about what was going on there. Im sure you’ll be firing off an email to their editor on how racist they are to even dare to investigate shortly.
Journalists confirm fake allegations as fake because it's important for people who often believe in face value hearsay. For example, if 8chan starts a rumor about Jews eating babies in some town, even though the claims are obviously not credible, if they get spread around it's a journalists' duty to go to actual officials like law enforcement, city officials to confirm the fakeness of the claim. You going on a NBA team fan message board "asking questions" isn't journalism.
It wouldn't be well done if the meme was baseless. So ya it's funny because you transplant your European anti-migrant fascist rhetoric into American based forums. So the meme having a basis in reality is why it's funny.
Yes, asking for the context surrounding a photo that has caught public attention is “RaCist.” Many people were interested in learning more about the photo. I guess anyone who ever expressed any curiosity or interest concerning the photo is “RaCist.”
It absolutely is racist. Why would you ask such a stupid question on a NBA team fan message board? "Many people"? The many people here know how to operate a web browser and search for basic reporting. You don't need to confirm the specific image as having a Hatian person in it or not to dismiss the reports going around by merely Google searching reports asking city officials and law enforcement WELL before you started "asking questions". For a non bigot, the reporting confirming that none of the allegations were confirmed true by law enforcement and the city itself is enough to be satisfied and think of that image of one dark skinned male holding some dead geese as nothing more than just a single man holding some dead geese. Like there should be no more "asking questions" for a non bigot at that point. But for a bigot, they want to go on some message board pretend they can't read some basic reports from a basic search and "ask questions" about the validity of blood libel claims based on the "confirmation" of a single photo having a Hatian or not in it.
Cite a report explaining the context of the photo with a time stamp before my first post on the matter. I looked. Didn't see one. Only ones I've seen posted in the D&D have been after. The D&D already had threads discussing adjacent issues. Seemed like a sensible place to inquire about the geese situation. This forum is for debate and discussions of political/social issues. Why do you post 51,000 times on a NBA team fan message board about politics?
He should have realized libertarians are like terrorist, you can't negotiate or reason with them. Best to let y'all slowly fade away...
The picture was strange, and in all my years I've never seen someone walking on a neighborhood street holding a couple geese in hand. Asking others if they know what the picture is about seems entirely reasonable to me. I wondered the same thing. The explanation that he was moving them off the street after they were hit by a car makes sense. I'll also note that just because one doesn't immediately dismiss allegations that some Haitian immigrants have killed or even eaten local animals, that doesn't make them a bigot. Criminals exist in every community. Bigotry would be having animus towards someone on account of them being Haitian because of other assumptions made about the type of person they are. The real problem with Trump isn't that he thinks these accusations out of Springfield might possibly have some truth to them. It's that he repeats them uncritically as if they are fact and is trying to use that to make people dislike immigrants as a group, for his political benefit.
A single picture of a dark skinned human carrying dead animals by a street is not of the level of strange where a non bigoted person would "ask questions" about whether this is tied to blood libel claims that aren't corroborated at all of an entire immigrant group. In America road kill happens. You are a bigot if your assumption of a dark skinned human carrying a dead animal in the street isn't the more reasonable assumption that a car hit some animals which happens ALL THE TIME in America and latch this picture to allegations that by the way started by neo Nazi groups claiming things in a town hall meeting in Springfield. And a non bigoted person would already search for official reports by law enforcement and city officials to see that not a single allegations has been corroborated and then see a picture of an dark skinned human carrying a dead animal by a street intersection and not go to a team fan message board "asking questions' one whether this random image is linked to the blood libel claims started by neo Nazis. If a picture of a white skinned human was carrying a dead carcass by the road your assumption would immediately jump to "dude is probably clearing he street of road kill from either him hitting the animal or someone else prior". That would be your assumption. Not "Is this possible evidence that white Americans are eating park geese?" That's how I know it's bigoted.
You don't need context of a photo. You need to just Google searching there is any corroborates claims from officials in Springfield and see there isn't any and then not go to a message board asking if a random photo of a black person carrying a dead carcass by a street is linked to claims started by neo Nazis in a town hall meeting. You'd just think it's a random photo just like you'd think it's a random photo if it was a white human doing the exact same thing. You wouldn't think in terms of "is an entire ethic group in America doing something like this?".
